Did the New York Times get your state food wrong, too?

Don't feed your dogs this grape salad, which the NYT said is the iconic Thanksgiving Day side dish. But, it turns out, no one in MN had ever heard of it. Check your state. Did they get it right? Here's my take on what happened in Minnesota with a link to the article that defamed a lot of states.

Saying goodbye too soon

This past Thursday I lost my Ellie Mae.  I cannot believe she is gone and the void and hurt is so deep.  She was only 4 years and 4 months.  I am awaiting the final pathology report but last Monday after being hospitalized since the previous Wednesday the Dr had to go in and perform biopsy.  Wednesday when she was admitted it was because when they performed a complete blood count her white blood cells were extremely high and her red blood cells were very low.  Her liver was showing it was very irritated on X-ray and ultra sound and also through lab work.

These bulldogs love their kale.

They run out to what's left of the garden and do their best to eat everthing there. Italian kale is a favorite. They grab the stems at the ground, chew them off and then run to the back steps to feast. I have weird dogs.

Margie loves her kale.

So, does Quigley. He's harvesting!

"Sun Dog" in the sky......

Last Saturday we had our bulldog rescue fundraiser. I looked at the sky and saw this; I thought it was a rainbow but there had been no rain. I later came to find out it's called a "Sun Dog".  I now know it was my Zimmer telling me was OK at the Bridge. He always loved to lay on our deck in the sun.

Again hello all

Our brindle Meatloaf passed in 2007 , and then Angus came home two months later. Actually Angus we saved from being put to sleep in 2007 due to health problems which an elderly lady just could not afford to pay his vet bills so we took him in and had surgery done on his eyes (cherry eye ) and also had a ruptured testacle which we had re moved. Our vet told us at the time that she didn't think he would live long in the condition he was in, but low and behold 8 yrs. later, which we enjoyed him being a part of our lives he was finally put to rest.

Hello

It's been 7 days since i lost my Angus and I still hurt so bad . I miss my baby boy so much and I just don' t think it will end soon. Don't know what to do it's so hard to get by , the house is so lonely quiet and not just the same anymore. I keep expecting to see him when i open the door after i get home from work and i don't get to see him, he was always there . it's so amazing how we get so attatched to our bullys. Wish I could just hold him one more time and recieve all his kisses he saved for me all day long till i got home. Don't know how to fill this void i feel in my heart !

Is this normal? Pet related question

My husband and I are looking to move into a new house (renting). The landlord is requesting the normal; pet deposit, pet contract, etc. But she is also requesting a picture of Fatboy. This is weird right? I don't feel comfortable giving out our picture of Fatboy.

By boy Toby is peeing blood

On my way to vet now, just thought you guys could give me some ideas what might be going on. Toby is 8 years old and has been sluggish lately and has lost weight over the past few months. I took him out this morning and noticed he is peeing blood and its a pretty good amount of blood, not just a light stream. He's also been constipated lately so I'm really freaking out and scared it could be very bad. Is there a chance it could be something easy to fix?
