The Frontline plus sold by vets only does not work itself into the bloodstream. It does treat the sebaceous glands in the epidermis of the skin (tissue
comprising of glands and follicles).
The Frontline and like-products which are sold over the counter at Wal-Mart, PetSmart and Petco do enter the bloodstream.
Swimming and regular bathing with a non-detergent shampoo will not wash Frontline Plus from the glands/fur.
Sue, thanks for your input, but my question was not directed at how to keep a dog from mating. It was about coloring. You don't know me so I would appreciate your not telling me how hard I did or did not try to keep my dog from mating. However, just because I couldn't keep a dog from mating doesn't mean I'm a bad or inattentive person like you're trying to make out.
I was cleaning out all my old pictures and found this... wow has Muggs changed a bit:)
Here is Ice trying to get in the action of the tea party my daughter and I were having. Notice the "chicken" in his mouth! DonnaMarie & Ice
it's a really bad pic, but the only one I have although i have asked my breeder to send me more when she gets a chance. You can see how much smaller Leeloo is compared to her siblings. In this pic she was 7 lbs. and the next sibling was 9.5 lbs... my little runt! ~cristina~
