Yes, I had the pleasure to meet

Jacinda at nationals and she is such as sweet as one can imagine. Wish we had more time to get together at nationals but it seemed like a quick few days.

I love the Indian outfit photo, and the wagon cart pic

they are awesome. I didn't know you were a nurse. Great field to be in these days. At least that is one job that greedy CEOs can't send overseas.

About me!

I am 41 years old, live in Riverview, Florida (near Tampa) but hail from the great state of Ohio, a small town called Barberton (near Akron). I have been married 18 wonderful years to the best and supportive husband alive and have worked 21 years for the State of Florida, 13th Judicial Circuit Court (10 years in technical support & 11 years in family law). My hobbies are showing & training my bulldogs, scrabpooking, retail therapy & travel.

I got my first bulldog (Dixie) from the SPCA, in the 6 years I've owned her we've showned in competition obedience, rally & agility earning titles RN, RA, RE, RAE, CD, CDX, CP-L1. Our houshold also includes 2 other rescues, Donovan our english mastiff & Destin our dane/wim mix and just this past August I brought home our 2nd bulldog and our first puppy, my darling baby boy Twister who will continue in this "big step sister's"footsteps in the obedience & rally rings and we are also venturing in the conformation ring for the first time for both of us...

ABOUT ME!

I am 28.
I live in Milford, CT with my fiance and George.
I graduated from Pace University (in NYC) and now can NOT find a job so I am unemployed...and it STINKS.
I am very very very ready to finally get married and have a baby, but none of that is possible without 2 incomes, so until I can find a job.

George is our first bulldog. He will be 2 this April. I am completely head over heal in LOVE with him. (I know you all understand). He came from Deirdre and Jodi (Rascal Bulldogs/ Brixalot Bulldogs) of Long Island, NY...the famous Munch is our uncle:)

Anddddd, we've learned in the last new months that Julia and Gretl live a couple exits away, so once it warms up George and Gretl can be pals...and we are VERY excited for a new friend!

This is an older pic of us (please ignore the frizzy hair, we were in Mexico!)

About me.

I was born in Fargo, ND but moved to Seattle too many years go to remember. I now live in Renton, WA and turned the big "50" in January. I've been married twice and decided my taste in men sucks. I prefer my life with my dogs. happy.gif

I have been at my job for 25 1/2 years and actally still enjoy it. I purchase chemcials and raw material for a paint and coatings distributor in Kent, WA.

I've had bulldogs for 6 1/2 years starting with Porter who actually belongs to my son. After a year he moved and within 30 days I had my sweet boy, Bailey. We worked hard and were able to get his Rally Novice title when he was 3. He received one of his legs at Nationals in Spokane and was SO much fun. I loved the breed so much I just had to have another one. Ellie joined our family in July 2007 from a wonderful person and breeder, Linda Borden.

I do have one skin kid. My son Billy will turn 27 in March and really is the best kid a parent could ask for.

I do mostly lurking on BDW and have been around for 4 years.

about me

I am 51 years old as of yesterday, sad.gif. We live in Wilmington, NC, and have been here about 15 years now. We have 8 dogs now, five bullies, and three Chinese Shar-pei. It seems that I always have 8, that's my "number", I have had shar-peis for the past 13 years. I had lost three of my males to kidney failure and at the time my son, was playing baseball in college and while at one of his games, just after losing one of my boys, another parent came walking into the park with a bulldog puppy named Happy, he looked as if he was smiling! Well, that weekend I fell in love and vowed to get one. Along comes Lola, followed three months later by Jackson, followed four months later by Spike. I lost two more of my shar-pei, one that was 14 years old at Thanksgiving, then Roxy who was only six at Christmas. The next year we got Bella and Mack who are litter mates. I think this will be it for awhile. I own my own business, which is new construction cleaning . My husband also owns his own business, he is in the excavating business. My daughter is 29, and is back in school getting her master degree in psychology. My son plays professional baseball and we spend a lot of time going to see him play.

Beth and Jasper's picture

about me....

I'm married, in my late 50's, mother of two grown kids. I work as a nurse {part time, third shift/ mental health}. I am happily owned by Jasper, my first bulldog. He is nearly seven years old and the light of my life, aside from my kids, of course!I am so blessed to have him.

I have been coming to BDW for about 6 years, starting when my daughter got her first bulldog, Winston. I fell in love with him and the breed & knew I had to have one of these wonderful dog. I mostly lurk, but throughly enjoy all the posts and pictures.I have learned so much here, thanks to the giving spirit of this forum.

Céline and Angel Stella's picture

About me

I met my first live bulldog on a trip to Nova Scotia in about 1996 (his name was Crunch and he was a huge white male) and it's been an obsession since then. We got Robbie, our first bully about four years later. We only had him a month when we lost him during his neutering surgery. We were devastated. My family was so afraid for my mental health that they surprised me with a little white cube of a girl called Stella about two months later. I had chosen this name of my "next" bulldog already so they knew what to call her and registered her before I even got her. Stella has been pretty much the centre of our universe since then happy.gif

Stella, in her famous "turkey girl" picture, has appeared on the home page of BDW - and on the Marth Stewart "Bring Your Own Bulldog" show. Both were very proud moments for mummy and daddy. Stella sez "Hey, it's the least I deserve!"

I live in Montreal, Quebec and work as a business writer. We have a cottage in Ontario, where Stella likes to catch rays, bark at ducks and drink out of the lake.

luvwinnie's picture

Just want to add

When they need me, I do home visits here in Northern NJ for Heavensent Bulldog Rescue. I know it's not "rescue day" but I thought this would be allowed as part of "who we are" day since it's very important to me.

luvwinnie's picture

You are right...let's keep it here at least! about me

My husband and I got our first beautiful bully, Winnie, when we were dating, in July 1998...friend called her the world's largest engagement ring, lol. We didn't know much about bullies then, but learned fast and fell in love with the breed. Winnie was full of love and life...loved people...dogs, not so much. She was VERY VERY spoiled...anyone here can tell you that! happy.gif We bought an RV so she could travel with us. She passed on 9-16-07 and we were devastated.
I just knew my heart could only heal if we adopted a rescue...so in Nov. 2007 we welcomed an adorable bully boy named Hooch into our home and hearts and it has been quite a journey. He has severe allergies, which we have come a long way with through holistic medicine and behavior issues. He was completely shut down at first. He has grown a lot and taught us so much. He has taught us PATIENCE and unconditional love.

As for me, I'm an editor in NYC. We live in NJ. I'm 41. We have no kids, by choice...only the 4 legged kind. We also have 2 almost 14 yr. old kitties, one with chronic renal failure.

Thank you Amy!

I've been with the horse rescue for over 2.5 years now I think. Joy is amazing, she is quite old, blind and came in in renal failure. But she has held on for over a year. She is a love, and I always look forward to spending time with her. She enjoys kisses on her nose and scratches and does all those sweet things horses do when they are really happy. I love her happy.gif

And you are right, how could one not spoil Ruby! She defines the word Princess, lol. What great girl she is.

Thanks for everything Amy!

Need I even say....

That Duffers has always, and I mean always, been one of my all time favorite bullies....EVER! You have an amazing group there. They are all so beautiful and unique. And the pics you post are priceless! I cried when I read about Emma. And I am so glad Eve entered your life.

You are so talented, and a great person.

Great story!

I didn't know you and your husband were weightlifters. My dad has been doing it my whole life. I remember he used to dead lift (is that the same as powerlift?) and arm wrestle, haha, how funny! He still goes to the gym nearly everyday and he is 63! It's one of those really old time gyms with nothing but weights and medicine balls. No fancy equipment at all. They don't even lock the door at night! And from what I hear it smells as bad as you'd think it does, lol. He got me interested in lifting, but not to that extent. It was more just to keep in shape. I'll admit I liked having some muscles though happy.gif

And I can't believe Kaylise is 9 months!!! Doesn't seem possible. I have to laugh Laray, we have some similarities. Before I quit my job I was an Office Mgr/HR person. And I love salmon and sweet potatoes. Haha. Well if we ever meet at least I'll know what to cook!

Very cool reading your story! Hope to see you around more!

Yep,...

I'm learning all sorts of tidbits from everyone too!
It's funny how familiar we become with each other, but still find out things we never knew. wink.gif

About Us

Don and Kim Bryson here. We are from Yukon OK. We have been in bulldogs since 2005, when my son, Chris presented us with Winston, of Bulldog Boogie fame. The breeders were quite proud of his line, and suggested that we get Winston into the ring. I had never been in the ring, so it was a real plunge to get started. I should have known it was going to be an uphill climb, when on the day before our first b match, Winston popped two cherry eyes. The next day, the judge said," thas ok, I'm not judging cherry eyes today" The comradary of the bulldoggers kept us in it, even though Winston wasn't a show dog, he is an awesome pet, which was his intention all along. A breeder had been watching us with Winston and asked us to co-own a girl from their upcoming litter. Thus we got Duchess, Ch.Clark's Duchess of Westbury. Shortly after this, we became involved with BCARN. We have worked with over 20 rescues since we started. Duchess this past Aprils Fools day, brought us 6 beautiful puppies. We kept two, a boy and girl, Wizard and Diamond. Wizard took to the ring as a natural. 6 months and 3 days, WD, BOS (beat his momma), he did well at Nationals and thas where we are today, working on our second Champion, and our first bred-by Champion.

About Me :)

My name is Noelle, I'm a 23 year old Photographer, been doing it as my main source of income (weddings, portraits, events - you name it I'll shoot it!) for about 3 years now and i love it. My hours are flexible so i stay at home with my son most of the week and he goes to preschool two days a week. His name is Oliver, hes three years old, and a total ladies man. Hes a little terror, and has his moms attitude to the T. I am engaged to my boyfriend of almost 6 years and we're looking to buy a house and get our ducks in a row!

We've had Remi since July of 2009. I have been hassling him to let me get a bulldog since the day we moved in together. The timing was never right. Now that i have a flexible schedule its perfect! I've wanted bulldogs ever since i can remember, and now that i have one i cant imagine ever being with out!

I live in Portland Maine, and i LOVE it here. Even with our freezing cold winters, i love it. Portland has all i could ever want, and its never more then 10 minutes to the beach happy.gif I think bulldog people (and Portland people) are a breed all their own!

ABOUT ME...

I'm 54 years old and have been divorced forever. Not really interested in getting married again. Loving the independence.

I've worked in the property & casualty insurance industry for about 25 years. Had one job for 20 years and was layed off last year. Stayed home for 9 months and started a new job last November.

I have legal custody of my grandson, Kyle. He'll be 10 in a few weeks. He keeps me young.

I got my first bulldog in 1996. Dudley got his CD obedience title. Then came Higgins in 1998. My first champion. Both passed away about 8 1/2 years ago from heat exhaustion when my A/C went out. Many of you were here and will remember.

I now have 3 generations. Opal is 9. She's the sweetest girl. I showed her but she never finished. Opal had 2 litters. I have her daughter Olivia...Ch Beau's Let It Be Me CD. Olivia is my first home bred champion and my first dog with titles on both ends of her registerd name. I have Opal's grand daughter, Olivia's niece, Angel...and she ain't no angel. She has TONS of energy. She grabs things and then runs like hell.
I haven't been in the ring for quite some time but I hope that will change soon (keep your fingers crossed).

I also have 3 kitties and 2 goldfish.

I love traveling and going to the BCA Nationals. In the last couple of years I've had the opportunity to travel. I took Kyle to DisneyWorld. I went to the Bahamas and stay at the Atlantis on Paradise Island. That place is heaven on earth. I also took a cruise to Bermuda. I've only missed a couple of Nationals in the last 10 years. Looking forward to KY this year.

I've made so many wonderful friends due to being owned by bulldogs.

Sue Beaupre, Opal, Olivia, Angel, Cutie, Daphne, Abby and 2 nameless goldfish.

Wonderful pictures!!!

Jessica you have beautiful bullies and you know so much. I have learned a lot from your posts over the years. I really enjoyed reading this.
