I grew up with bulldogs but Maybull is David's first dog. I am a freelance journalist and am a real estate agent. David teaches Tai Chi and other martial arts which means that we are both self-employed. I have a MA in journalism and David has a degree in design from The College of Visual Arts. David is in his late 40s and I am in my late 50s. We have been married 14 years.
I grew up in Iowa and have lived in MO, northern VA and OR before coming to live in the Twin Cities. David was born and raised here.
Maybull is our big ol' lumpy love and is healthy even though she's 10-years old.
We like to cook and let Maybull lick the plates. We also like to travel both in the USA and foreign and exotic places. In the warmer weather, we have a big vegetable garden in half of our tiny backyard and we eat out of it all year we blanch and freeze all summer and then eat that all year. The other half of the yard belongs to dogs.

first, he's an idiot. But aren't all Doofi?? The things we bulldogs have to put with, sigh, just to get some Jif, Popeye's fried chicken, and our butts scratched.
Doofus is an attorney who lives about thirty miles north of New Orleans. Much of his work involves appellate briefs. He has been posting on BDW since November 2002. He learned about BDW while posting on another bulldog message board, Wonderful World of Bulldogs, that suddenly disappeared in the middle of the night and was never heard from again. Personally, I think it got swallowed up in a black hole called Bourbon Street.
Doofus's first bulldog was also named Clovis, like me. Technically, I am Clovis II, or Clovis Version 2.0. Like I said, Doofuses are idiots.
I did not know Clovis I but have heard wonderful things about her. She unfortunately crossed over a few months before her 8th birthday. Back then, the idiot did not have pet stairs next to his bed. One night Clovis I jumped off the bed, which sits quite high, and tore her ACL very badly. She crossed over while awaiting surgery at the vet's office, probably from stress. No one really knows. But at least Doofus learned a lesson and now always has a carpet surfaced pet stairs next to our bed that he thinks is his bed. Yes, Doofi are delusional.
After Clovis I crossed over, the silence, especially at night when he could no longer hear her snoring, just about drove Doofus crazy. Within weeks, he bot Boo. She's my big sister. She's also a 'ho who flashes her 8 boobs for cheap Mardi Gras beads. Me? If they wanna see mine, they gotta pay. Serious big bucks. With a 35 foot RV with triple sliders tossed in.
About 3 months after he got Boo, Doofus had the incredible privilege of finding me. I am only 8 weeks younger than Boo but about 40 pounds lighter. Thus many Doofi are surprised to learn that we are so close in age, tho clearly not so close in beauty. I being the prettier one. And humble too.
Doofus refers to us as his Cajun Hussies. I prefer fewer syllables when referring to him. Such as Moron.
In April of 2009, Doofus got Flynn. She is from Seattle and eats apples. Go figure. She also eats window sills, sheetrock, desks, entertainment centers, expensive wood blinds, a navel orange tree, and lawyers. The latter usually make her barf.
Oh, we also have two stupid cats, Cat Bastard and Finch.

My name is Cheryl Anderson and I live with my hubby Dave and fur babies in the metro Detroit area. We have been here 6 years now.
We have been married 13 years and dated for 6 years before that (met in High School in Ohio). I am an industrial engineer and both me and hubby are in the automotive industry right now.
I have always loved bulldogs, being especially addicted to them the last several years. We have two cats that are 12 (Basil) and 14 (Phoebe) and debated for years abotu adding a bulldog to the mix. Finally, after hinting, pleading, and adding "baby bulldog" to every grocery list, birthday list, and christmas list, hubby finally agreed.
We brought home Atlas on Oct. 28, 2008 at the age of 12 weeks. I saw a pic of his litter in the paper and fell in love with him immediately. He was as wide as he was long and the cutest thing I have ever seen. He has been a joy to us for the past 16 months. We spoil him crazy and he deserves it! He loves people and other animals and eventually, I would like to get him into being a therapy dog...gotta work on obedience first, though.
I found and joined BDW right after we got Atlas and this place is fantastic. So many friendly, knowledgeable people who are dedicated to the breed. It is a real family here.

I have been lurking on BDW for about 2.5 years on and off and starting posting about 8 months ago. I am a 27 year old Professional Forester (R.P.F.) which means I work in forest management (the reforestation end for me). No I am not a lumber jack! LOL I was first owned by a (now) 5.5 year old Rottweiler. I live with my fiancee in wonderful Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. We have been engaged for 4 years, together for 7... I guess I'm not the only one making sure I know what I'm getting into !
My fiance has always wanted a bulldog so when I talked him into our second dog that's where we started looking. I was reluctant to get a bulldog because "I didn't want a dog that you can't do anything with." Meeting with our (amazing) breeder my opinion changed immediately and I fell in love with the snorting, chortling, love-seeking bulldogs! So Maverick entered our lives and things haven't been the same since. He makes us laugh everyday and keeps our lives entertaining!
He is in fact my first "performance" dog with me getting him into the Rally Obedience ring (with our RN and one leg of our RA), hopefully the obedience side in the future and we just started agility (which is a blast!).
It's been great reading about everybody on the board today!

I am in my mid 30's and have been married to a great guy for over 6 years. We have 2 kids, a girl age 5 and a boy age 3. I have been a stay at home mom since our son was born. It took some time to get used to, but I love it now. And a bonus is that I get to spend every day with Ruby too.
My husband wanted a Bulldog, so we got Ruby right after we were married. I had never had a dog before. We also have 3 cats. It's a big happy family over here Everyone really does get along well, they are all good at respecting each others space.
I volunteer once a month at a horse rescue, and I love it.
I have been on the board for over 6 years, I found Ruby's breeder through the breeder link on the homepage. Her birthday is in Sept and she will be 7 this year. I just can't believe how the time flies.
She has spoiled us rotten. She is so smart and loving and would like to cuddle 24 hours a day. She is also very active and loves long walks, and playing fetch and tug. In her younger years prior to knee surgery she was quite the frisbee dog. Her and I have completed 6 training classes together, mostly in Rally. It was so fun.
Ruby has taught me so much. And I have so much respect for her. She is a special girl and is my doggy soul mate.
Some pics.... A baby Ruby, she has always loved the snow
Her frisbee days...
The cushion Queen. There aren't enough cushions in the world for this girl
Tolerating my ridiculous holiday photo shoots
Napping in MY chair next to her picture
And just a happy pic of her
And a pic of me at the horse barn with my favorite pony

i've missed all the other times we did this, so I'll chime in today. I'm 46 years young, an RN in an NICU here in Baton Rouge, LA, and have been married for 23 1/2 years. I'm owned and operated by 1 two-legger, Madison (11), and 3 of the most wonderful bullies in the world: Rosie 5; Zach 4; and Makenzie 2. We are super excited about the Saints being in their first ever super bowl and look forward to the game next week.

she had a hypoplastic trachea - size 4. tiny like a cat so we kept a close watch on her.
She went in for a spay and did great. Post op she was fine, up walking, doing her business. They kept her overnight and had a tech that checked in every few hrs. The next afternoon as I was getting ready to get her I got a call. She developed diahhrea and vomitted so they wanted to keep her and monitor her.
I went to see her anyway and was there for awhile holding her, she just looked a little weak. Went back home. Called in the evening to check on my baby and they said the vet will call you back in a few. They call back, crying and tell me Libby died. She began to vomit profusely and they were right there with her when it happened. Grabbed her out of the kennel but she had aspirated the vomit and went into cardiac arrest. They worked on her for 45 minutes.
They did a necropsy and all they found was that her lungs were burned from the vomit/acid. We all decided that she developed a severe reaction to either the pain meds or a/b because she was fine post op for a full day with no issues whatsoever. Once the meds started working their way thru her system is when she got really sick.
It happened 2 days before Xmas Something I will never forget.
If you go to the main page under the Color of Coat link, Libby is the newborn red with black mask puppy. I am holding her.

Well, I am 37 years old and I am a technician for a company that makes connectors for cell phones, computers, video games etc. I guess you could say it's a "man's job" since I am the only woman who has ever done this job.
Maizy is my first bulldog and I got her when she was 8 weeks old and that was seven years ago. I guess you could say I was hooked on bulldogs. Two years later I added Morgan and then I rescued Diesel who sadly died about 6 weeks later during entropian surgery. Next came my baby boy Chief who was my first "show" dog. Chief had some anxiety problems and didn't enjoy traveling or showing. Sadly, I lost him at the young age of 16 months due to a sting. Not long after Chief's passing I was fortunate and found some wonderful breeders who happened to have a litter of pups. Well, Trace caught my eye from the very first picture and the rest is history. Trace and I are now learning about showing together and recently we got our first point. I also help out when I can with Rescue. I am currently fostering an 8 year old girl that I named Bella.
I am normally a very happy and optimistic person but last year really tested that happiness. Last April I lost my Mother and it has taken me a long time to come to terms with losing her and being an "orphan". But, I believe 2010 is going to be a great year and I now look forward to see what will happen.
thank you so much!

I am 59 years old and have been married to my wonderful husband for 36 years. We live in Ladner just a little south of Vancouver BC Canada We got our first bully in 1990. We saw an ad in the paper and went and got her the same day. We loved her so much- her name was Matilda. She passed away from complications after surgery when she was just 3 years old. We have had 4 more bullies since then and now have Onslow and Buttercup Onslow (Onnie ) is the sweetest boy in the world, and Buttercup thinks that she is the queen.

Question . . .
what do you edit? We use to have a regular poster here who was the book editor for Alabama's school system. I used to love to talk books with her.

Do you edit a magazine? I read lots of them, so if you work for one of them, I'll look for your name up front.

About us
I am in my mid 30's and have been married to a great guy for over 6 years. We have 2 kids, a girl age 5 and a boy age 3. I have been a stay at home mom since our son was born. It took some time to get used to, but I love it now. And a bonus is that I get to spend every day with Ruby too.
Everyone really does get along well, they are all good at respecting each others space.

My husband wanted a Bulldog, so we got Ruby right after we were married. I had never had a dog before. We also have 3 cats. It's a big happy family over here
I volunteer once a month at a horse rescue, and I love it.

How do you do it?
Being an RN and all? Hard work, and I want to pass out getting blood taken.

the Libster
she had a hypoplastic trachea - size 4. tiny like a cat
so we kept a close watch on her.
Something I will never forget.
It happened 2 days before Xmas
If you go to the main page under the Color of Coat link, Libby is the newborn red with black mask puppy. I am holding her.

About me....
Well, I am 37 years old and I am a technician for a company that makes connectors for cell phones, computers, video games etc. I guess you could say it's a "man's job" since I am the only woman who has ever done this job.
![[linked image]](http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r286/bullygrl/meandtrace0001.jpg)

Here's a pic of me and my baby Trace
Thanks for the warm welcome Eh!
Fellow Canadians here:) thanks for the warm welcome Shelley!
