About me..

I have loved bulldogs all of my life, from the time a local lumberyard owner who's huge white bulldog, Ghost, charmed me on Saturday mornings while I played with him under a large desk-I was a toddler at the time, to the present. I have finally come to a point in my life where I now have the time to devote to them. I had the wonderful Winston, who I lost last fall, and now have Diana, Fergie & Gracie-the tweedles- and Ollie who is a boy I kept from Diana's last litter. I am in Northeast Nebraska, in deep snow and ice and the bullies daily antics are a wonderful respite from the cabin fever that comes in cold January. I found this board on the recommendation of a dear friend and fellow bulldog lover when I brought Winston home. This is a wonderful place I count on to keep connected with all bulldog lovers.

And always .....Winston

I'll join!

I'm 52 and retired from nursing 12 years ago when my husband moved us out of the city into the mountains of PA. I'm in the process of a divorce (after being married for 27 years), so I guess I'll be looking for some way to make a living! lol
When we moved up here, I finally got our first dog - a rottweiler. He was a couch potato. So, I got my Kano a year later and trained/competed in Schutzhund. I also showed her in AKC Obedience, Rally-O, and played around with Agility and Fly-Ball. Because I was spending so much time training, I took a part-time job at the kennel, and have been working there ever since. I had to retire Kano from competition when she manifested with lupus.
My first bulldog was/is Q-Ball. I've always wanted a bullie, and I have never regreted having this stinky funny slobbery furball in my life! He's also a Therapy Dog, and loves to go spread the snot with all his fans. happy.gif
I joined BDW a few years ago and have met some of the most fantastic wonderful people, here.

Here is a bit of history, and an introduction from Maggie, Moze,

Hi guys,
Where do I begin?
In 2006 I began lurking at BDW. Hubby and I are in our early fifties with two grown sons and two baby grandsons, but our nest was empty. We teach school in S. Missouri--I teach kindergarten, and he is a technology education teacher. After spending the big part of 2004-2008 building our dream home, life was returning to normal. We had a twelve year old german shepard and four cats, but our boy, Macguyver (Mack), a rescue, was dying of mouth cancer. He was a heart-dog who followed me everywhere. I had owned german shepards all of my life--another breed that is very tuned in to their owners. We lost our Mackers in April of 2007. Shortly thereafter, I was given the gift of a bully named Schubert--10 months old--and the most endearing little man I had ever met. He had hipoplastic trachea and was the runt of a litter, so we knew going in that he had specific needs in order to stay well. Sadly, our Schubert didn't live long--we only had him from February to May. His loss was more devastating than either of us could imagine. But having him gave us the intense desire to share our lives with a bulldog. On May 16 of 2007 our first grandson was born, and on that same day, we went to our vet's home and picked out Mozart, a five month old puppy. He was just what we needed to begin the healing process. He demanded our attention--nearly leaping out of his pen. Personality exuded from that little boy! After two weeks, and after seeing how Mozie interacted with my son's retrievers, we decided to bring Ollie home with us too. We had seen Ollie when we were searching for a puppy. She was 10 months old, and turned out to be a great playmate for Mozie. We have had both for almost three years now. They are so smart, and we love them so much! I had owned rescues or retired show pets for twenty years, and I guess we wanted to be free of health issues for a change, so we went to reputable breeders and purchased our bullies. I do not regret doing this because these babies had been overlooked as young puppies. How could anyone "not" want them right away? They are wonderful!

Life is good, and without BDW we would be lost. Our state of Missouri is becoming more proactive in rescue and weeding out puppy mills, so I am beginning to have a little more pride in our state, although much still needs to happen to weed out these ignorant backyard breeders. We have so many wonderful rescue organizations in the BDW community. These people are the real heroes. Their posts keep rescue in people's minds, and I think that is the ultimate mission of a site like BDW.

I hope you enjoy getting to know everyone here. The people here are just plain cool! And there isn't anything they wouldn't do for their babies, or their friends.

Here are some pics to go with the messaage.

About Me

Hi friends, so cool to read about you all.

I am Jeff, 27 years old, married, work as a budget analyst, graduated from University of Delaware and then the University of Southern California so I'm an obnoxious supporter/fan as you have seen. I like sports, photography, and jokes.

I have a 2.5 year old nut, I mean bulldog named Tiger Lilly. I've been on this site for 3 years, and posted for 2. She is my first bulldog. I previously had a Lab/Chesapeake mix who I still miss dearly. She died 8 years ago. I love all dogs, but I do have a natural liking to all bull breeds, including pits and cross breeds (but not designer anything, more trying to get healthier dogs for a purpose, not just looks).

about me/us

Frank and I were both born in Chicago and we lived there until we bought a house and moved to the Northern burbs back in 1992, a year after we got married. (Well, except for the 4 months I lived in AL with my ex back in the early 80s)

I have been semi retired for almost 4 yrs and work for a temp agency. I have temped at the same company 3 days a week since then as an operations rep. They make electronic components that go into eletronic devices like RIM, Bose, Panasonic, Motorola, Philips, car audio systems for Ford, BMW, etc. Hubby is an IT nerd but has been unemployed for over 2 1/2 yrs now with no prospects sad.gif

I have had bulldogs since 1997. We got Sumo Akebono, then in 2000 got Libby, who passed away at 6 mos old. Ake passed in 2006 and in Jan 2007 we got Bear.

I started posting on WWB back in 1997 where I met Elaine, Helen, Vicky, Micki, Gail and many others. When BDW opened in 1999 I came here and read the home page info. Then the general forum opened in Nov 1999 and I would come here and read too. I finally started posting in 2001, or maybe early 2002.

Over these last 13 yrs I have lost my brother, mother, father and sweet Ake and many of the posters here have been around through all of my loses lending support and sympathy and I will always be grateful to them. They are lifelong friends and I can't imagine not having them in my life.

We have been trying to move to Las Vegas and almost got there last year. Maybe this year, we'll see what the economy and housing market is doing come early March.

About me

Hi everyone!
My name is Tiffany I am 33 years old.
I am originally from Southern Ontario but moved to Alberta 3 years ago for my DH's work, he is PhD Chemical Engineer and he has a small company.
I work in Post Secondary Fundraising in the field of Donor Relations.
We have been married for 4 years, I have an 11 year old DD from my first marriage, but my DH adopted her.

I have always loved animals, and have always had cats. My first love is horses, i grew up riding and hope to live on some land soon so I can rescue horses at auction who are headed for the slaughterhouses.
My DD and I had a ritual of watching "America's best dog" on TV a couple years ago, and if you remember Tilman was one of the dogs on the show. And even though he didn't win, I fell in love with the breed instantly.
And ever since then, every time I Saw a bully i would melt.
My DH has allergies to long haired breeds, but was very resistant to getting a dog and my DD thinks Bulldogs are ugly (GASP).
But I kept bugging and bugging and he finally gave in.
We adopted our Stella back in October from a breeder, she is 4 years old and was retired from breeding and put up for adoption.
Stella is the love of my life and I am just gahgah for her.
My DH loves her so much too, and my DD tolerates her happy.gif

I would like to foster Bullys in need, and help with rescue there just aren't alot of Bullys here in Alberta that are in need of rescue.

Anyway, that is me in a nutshell.
I love BDW and love reading everyone's posts, and feel normal that there are other people as crazy about their dogs as I am, cause my family and friends think I am bonkers, but that's ok.

About us....

I am 28 and Seth is 31. We live in Columbus, OH and have been married for just over one year. I am an auditor and Seth is a warehouse manager. We have been a part of the BDW community for almost a year now. We got our first (and only... so far) bulldog on Valentine's Day 2009. Seth had always wanted a bulldog. I really wanted a rottweiler (my parents have one) or similarly sized dog, but after looking at all kinds of cute bulldog puppies online, I was ready to try a bulldog. I'm glad I did because Ajax is great. We love him very much and spend our days spoiling him and laughing at his crazy antics. We haven't decided whether we will have any human children. For now we are happy with just having Ajax... our furry son!

Howdy and hello from me...

I'm Christie and I have been on the board for about 5 years now.

I'm turning the big 40 this year, my husband and I share the same birthday, we were actually born 5 minutes apart. This year marks anniversary #16.

Vinnie & I brought home our first baby, our marshmellow bulldog boy named Mugzy, shortly after we were married.
Mommy and Mugzy on Mugzy's 1st day home

When he was 2, I happen to read in the paper that some one was getting rid of their bully, they were moving out of state, and the girlfriend didn't want her. Enter Tillie. She joined our family when she was 16 months old.
The day Tillie came to stay...

They became contant companions and best friends..
Mugzy and Tillie relaxing by the fire

A few years later, me moved into our current house, and our family expanded a little more...our daughter was born, and became a bulldog lover from the start.
Mugzy and Baby Kateri

2 1/2 years later... our son joined the mix..
Mugzy and Baby Enzi

That same year... our Mugzy passed away at the age of 10 from congestive heart failure. We were heartbroken without our boy.

We found Bulldogsworld about a year later, and we able to share our love of these goofy souls with so many people. Lots of silly pictures and opportunities were shared, and lots of laughs. Even a day dedicated to my mistakingly posting an x rated 'man table' on the board wink.gif We shared our silly chalk drawings with everyone, with Tillie being the artist happy.gif

We went a few years with Tillie being the lone bully in the house before we decided we needed another funny face to join the crew. Enter Camilla, who we adopted through Laurette and LIBR. Camilla was 6 years old when we got her.

Psst....

Tillie and Camilla were quite a pair, Tillie again had a companion, although very different relationship she shared with Muzgy, but you knew they were happy to have each other.

Our grand dame Miss Tillie just left us this past November, at the ripe old age of 13. We all still miss her terribly, and I'm still trying to get used to typing "Christie and Camilla" in my name post. It doesn't seem right.

Camilla ('Kimmie' is her nickname) is sitting at my feet as I type, waiting patiently (not) for me to drop a piece of my bagel. Basically, I could re-run her video from the other day, she's doing the exact same thing. Okay, I think I will....

And now, I've written far too much, but left out lots that I'd love to share as well. I look forward to getting to know YOU! happy.gif

I've made a bunch of lasting friendships here on the board, and will always be grateful for that happy.gif

Okay... that's it! The end happy.gif

Always in my heart...
Our Tillie

About me( or us..lol.)

My name is Miranda, I am 29 and am a Dental assistant.
I am married with 3 children ages 13, 11 and 5.
I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
I have wanted a Bulldog since I was a kid, but was scared off by all of the horrible things I heard, I thought I had to be rich to own one..lol. So when we decided we were ready for one, we visited breeders in the area, and decided on one, we were put on a waiting list for a pup. After being on the list for 2 years, we decided we would like a rescue. I was searching for rescues on the web, and ended up finding the BCARN site, although I am in Canada. It was fate, I found my first Bully. He was 10 weeks old when we adopted him, he has Spina bifida. His name is Pugsley and he will soon be 3 years old. We are now the proud owners of 3 Bulldogs, a German pinscher, 2 furry kitties, and a hairless sphynx cat.

my story..............

My name is Vicky and I am owned by two bullies, Otie and Apollo. My first exposure to bulldogs came from my sister-in-law Karen, and treadmill guy! You got it.....Ozzy! Our family was hooked. Who wouldn't be????? Otie came to me through a divorce. Neither party wanted him, so he came home with me. Apollo came along two years later and is named after Apolo Ono the speed skater. We look forward to the Olympics this month! I am 53 yrs old and live in Omaha Ne.
Treadmill guy (my brother) is a dentist and I am his hygienist, so we have a neat family racket going on. Life is good with work and bulldogs. There is nothing better than watching TV with two bullies smothering you. I have been on BDW for a couple of years. I love our community.

About me and Sophia....

I am Amy, I live in Weatherford, Texas (AND LOVE IT!!!!). I have been married for 20.5 years to a wonderful man who is the love of my life. We have our daughter Katie and her husband Alex staying with us right now, and their delightful and beautiful baby girl, Audrey.

I work from home setting up and administrating my husbands business. He is a commercial/industrial General Contractor, but also invents things for the construction industry and holds 5 patents currently, so we have another company called Alsset Engineered Products, in which we develop, patent and sell those products. We have a manufacturing plant here in the Weatherford area that is getting ready to do the first run on one of our products and we are very excited about it:-)

I have Sophia who just turned 4 years old on January 26th. I am involved in all breed rescue on my own. Sophia was my first Bulldog and was a rescue. I took her in on March 25th at the age of 8 weeks....actually that was when the vet she was with called and asked us to take her. She didn't come home for another 3 weeks. Sophia has been my love ever since and I would love to have another Bulldog someday, but not while I have Sophie as she is a very aggressive girl:-( But she is my delight, so it doesn't matter!! I have been a member of BDW since April of 2006.

I also have a female Doberman as well as 3 kitties and 6 horses. Keeps me busy anyways!
