Need your help please

Hi everyone,

best way to trim a bulldogs nails??? add your ideas

Bella the female bully is great with her nails being done. YOU can even paint them and she has had them painted already..lol
but Gus on the other hand is MR> IMPOSSIBLE
I tried the dremel but wanted nothing to do with that idea
short of 2 people to hold him when I do them..I have NO great idea how to get them done.

at the vets........HE Just hands them his paw....go figure that one out. I could take him to the vet to have them trimmed all the time but that gets expensive and they grow fast, the nails on bulldogs

Does anyone know anything about folliculitis?

Dread had a bout of it about a 2 months ago. THe doc prescribed antibiotics and things were good, but it looks like it might be back again. I was unable to speak to the vet today, but the receptionist (or whoever)filled the script again for the antibiotic. Anyway, after I googled and read a little about folliculitis, it said that if there are ongoing bouts of it than it might be secondary to something else. Can anyone advise me what to ask the vet when I speak with him later?

Betty is having a spleenectomy Monday

Boy, I guess I nailed it. She has a large tumor on her spleen. Xrays and ultrasounds showed that it has not metastacized to other organs (although tiny nodules can happen and won't show until she's opened up), so it's a 75% chance she'll be 100% longterm with surgical removal.

Scratch that - surgery is Tuesday! more pics...

I just picked up Miss Betty. Such a little trouper, putt-putting, toe-dragging, out from the back of the vet's office, just another day. I'm so happy that they don't know what we know!

Newborn pup & Pneumonia

Does anyone have any experience with pneumonia in a 10 day old pup , she's being treated with Naxcel powder antibiotic ,0.6ml injected twice daily. Also tube up her nose to administer continuous oxygen, nebulizer and decoupage every 4 hours. Is this antibiotic commonly used ? Any other suggestions or tips very welcome.

Thank You.

LIFESPAN of bullies...

I was talking on the phone last night to great bully dog breeder on the board here and we were discussing the importance of genetics.
I think genetics goes along way to how long your dog lives in general.
I had a boston that lived to be 19 and half. she did not eat the greatest dog food, had a spinal injury at a year and half.
her parents lived a long time and so did her grandparents.

Glucosamine...

Hey guys-

I have been giving my bullie glucosamine & chondrotin with MSM (human generic brand) 2 tabs is 1500 mg for prevention. Well, this morining he was doing just fine and as soon as I took him outside to potty, he starts limping. Could it be the tablets? He will be 4 yrs next month and he weighs about 75#. He also did not want to eat all his food like normal. I think he only ate 1/2 cup. Thanks!
