Cherry eye for a few hours?

Hey all, last night our little Nola seemed to have cherry eye. We thought so b/c she had a red bulb forming in the corner of her eye and it was a little red. We were worried so we put her in her crate for a few hours to relax. When we came home, here eye had cleared right up. Is there anything we can do to prevent this from happening again? What causes cherry eye?
Thanks!

IAMS Premium Dog Food, Senior Formula

Does anyone feed their senior bulldog IAMS Premium Dog Food, Senior Formula? We adopted 8 year old Spanky 3 months ago and this is the food he was on. His previous owner and the vet both advised us not to change his food, as he has a sensitive stomach, so we haven't. I have read some negative reviews of this food on the internet, but when I mentioned this to the vet she laughed at me and said every dog food has some bad reviews.

Abby Is Itchy.......

Okay Abby has been in Heat for 2 and a half weeks it will be 3 wks on Wed. The past several days she seems to be itchy in her bottom area but nothing noticible when I take her outside she drags her bottom on the ground and does this inside as well tonight I had her outside and I noticed a few little red spots what do you think it could be?? Should I try some benedryl? I feel sorry for her!

Thanks
Dawn

Getting our senior bulldog to come when called, without a treat.

We have adopted an eight year old bully boy. He is such a sweet boy, but refuses to come when called, or even to walk on a leash unless he is offered a treat. When I call him and he does come, then he gets a treat. When I do not offer a treat, he does not come. Period!

Crystalographic stones, increased excretion and calnasodigital hyperkeratosis help

anyone with any experience with this could you please help us. Is there any other food or treats this boy can eat. The adoptive mom is having behaviorial issues with Carl and no positive way to train. He wants to dominate her. Her vet says no treats other than green beans and he hates them. We have had a trainer there 4 times and either the mom isn't following through or its not positive. Please any input would be helpful. thanks Pam

IS it odd for a BULLY to not chew their food.....Gus never does.

Gus never chews his food, just swallows it.
Bella on the hand chews each piece really well.
Gus has great teeth and actually pretty straight
Bella has very uneven teeth.......
so it is not the teeth for sure that determines it

Gus is a 55 pounds and healthy
but they always tell us to EAT OUR FOOD and chew it thoroughly

Bella loves her food and smacks those lips everytime
Gus on the other hand could care less about food.

new pupies

I would like to know if anyone out there has ever had a puppie that was eating by the mother? We just had pups yesturday and i was sleeping right by them and did not hear anything. So I don't know if the pup was sick and just died or what but we could not find the puppy anywhere the mother can not take them out of this area and we looked every where our only conclusion is that she ate it. but we have 5 other beautiful puppies that are doing well.

Wooly Bully Head Shakes

Hi. Wooly Bully is 2 years and 5 months old and started having head shakes this morning just before he woke up. It went on for about 15 minutes. He ate and drank normally and then went for a fairly long walk in the park, during which he was normal. On the way home, he was dozing in the car and started doing it again. His head shakes up and down--not side to side. He doesn't seem to be in any pain.

New owner of an 8 year old bulldog, barking at night

Three months ago we adopted an 8 year old bulldog. He is a sweet boy, slow moving and stubborn. When he first came to us, he slept in his crate all night. Recently he has started barking in the middle of the night. I get up and take him out to pee/poop (and he does), then put him back in his crate (I have to use kibble to get him back in). In about an hour, he starts barking again. I say, "no bark!" and he usually gets quiet for about an hour. On nights when I have not taken him out he has pooped in his crate.

Protein Losing Enteropathy

Has anyone's bully been diagnosed with this illness? My 6 y.o. boy has had this problem since July. His diet has been changed to prescriptions z/d and he is on probiotics, prednisone and now imuran. Any input on your experience with this would be appreciated.
