My 10 year old has Coccidia!

From my understanding this is usually found in pups. Has anyone else had this with their adult dog? He was prescribed both albon and flagyl. What is the prognosis???? My poor guy has been vomiting, had watery stools, and his appetite is poor at the moment. Need some moral support out there.

Vaccination Question

Bully is due for his annual check-up and shots this week (distemper, lyme's disease, and one other, I think). I've made the appointment and am not seriously considering not getting the shots, but I am a little worried.

Last year, he developed a horrible case of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis right after being vaccinated. (One of his shots last year was for rabies.) I nearly lost him and wound up having to take him to the emergency hospital at the University of Pennsylvania, where he stayed for four days.

Zetterberg

yesterday we got Zetty back from the vet for his hotspots. now we've noticed a dried drop of blood on his penis. a few weeks ago I saw a few bright red drops on the kitchen floor. we thought they could have been from his mouth from chewing on his toys. could this be from a UTI? or another problem?

Bread for morning tummy problems?

I read on another site on the internet that some owners give their bullies a half of a piece of bread before bedtime to prevent morning bile throw up due to an empty tummy. Our 8 year old Spanky had this morning bile throw up problem often. I tried the bread trick and it seemed to work fine. He quit throwing up completely!

swollen face and closed eyes

woke up this morning to my 2 1/2 year old female's face swollen, red, and eyes completely closed. Took her straight to the animal ER at 3:30 AM. They checked her out, gave her a shot of Benedryl, Steroids, and Epinephrine. Roughly 7 hrs later we gave her more benadryl by mouth 9at the direction of the vet this morning). She seemed to be getting better but now she is starting to swell again and her eyes are beginning to close. Should I give this a few more hours, or should I take her in to my vet?

eqyss, calm coat, malaseb- for dogs or horses?

i know that this is probably a stupid question... but i am about to purchase a shampoo and spray for my itchy, yeasty, losing patches of fur- dogs. i have noticed that both the bully and kelpie are starting to use their back legs to scratch at their ribs, especially when i am about to take them for a walk... does this mean anything?

I am looking in to the products recommended by people on this board and I have noticed that some have recommended the 'horse' version of the shampoo or spray...

Fish oil supplements

To the advice of some on this forum, I went out and purchased Fish oil to improve coat and shedding. I'm wondering what dosage to give. 1 or 2 pills a day?

Thanks!

Allergy Testing vs. Rx Food

Hello,

our Eng Bulldog male 14 mo has had a bad battle with, crusty/scab ear pinnas and his chin gets pustules/blisters.

He had a few courses of antibiotics and prednisone, which helps, but eventually the symptoms come back.

Our vet wanted to get allergy tested or try a rx diet. What can i do?

Any places where the rx diet is cheaper than 100 bucks a bag?

Thanks Andrew and Winston

Donations for Webbie.....

As you all read, Dave has to step away from the forums for medical reasons to rest his eyes. We are hoping he will be back to being our webbie in the future, but who knows if/when that will happen.

We want to thank him for 10 wonderful years of being the best webmaster on the www and we are collecting donations so we can send him an edible arrangement, which he loves and a cash gift, which Heidi feels will benefit him the most.
