Archived Bulldog Showing Competition

This is Darla. We just picked her up last weekend from Jeane TerHaar and I am so excited about starting to show her. She has a fantastic disposition. Her pedigree goes back to many of the same dogs our Maddie and Alfie go back to. I'm hoping she follows in their footsteps when it comes to the ring.

This is my last National Champion. I can't believe it is 11 years since these pictures were taken. I did have another one after her but I didn't show him alot. I really miss showing and I miss this mare. She was 1 in a handful I had a special bond with. It is such a thrill when you nail a ride, hard to explain but it just puts a smile on your face.

Should you or should you not greet the judge in the ring as he/she comes up to examine your dog?
I have had some people tell me to 'speak when spoken to' in the ring and others say it's perfectly fine to greet the judge with a simple 'good morning' / 'good afternoon'.
I have had several judges greet me first and obviously a reply is fine. I have offered a greeting and received replies and sometimes not....
Just wondering what the proper protocol would be so I don't inadvertantly get into trouble!
