Kristie --- Here is a picture for you -- OT (horse)

This is my last National Champion. I can't believe it is 11 years since these pictures were taken. I did have another one after her but I didn't show him alot. I really miss showing and I miss this mare. She was 1 in a handful I had a special bond with. It is such a thrill when you nail a ride, hard to explain but it just puts a smile on your face.

This is Jazz....I showed Appaloosa's and a couple of Quarter horses over the years. Even a Paint and an Arabian once but my breed was Apps. This is me and her going Res Hi Pt Non-Pro at our national show in Oklahoma. She was a 4yr old here.

Her and I doing a photo shoot at a show.

My trainer on her as a 3yr old. Trainer showed her in the Pro classes. I think she was 8th in this class out of 60+ entries

very competitive but I believe the fun side...

I was never good at getting all dressed up and grooming my horses till they shined! Once a horse comes to live with me his bridle path goes first! My trainer always gets so mad at me when I send him a horse! They look like a wild mustang! No clippers at my barn!
But I always like watching pleasure horses in the arena! Everyone is so clean cut and neat! I enjoyed looking at your pics. Horses and rider all dressed up!
I rode dressage for a few years. Couldn't seem to sit up straight enough... So I rode my first barrel horse and never looked back!

Another thing

I would have loved to do....I did when I was a kid. It was the fun side of the showing but also very competitive.

Thanks Kristie... what a pretty face

on your pony. I had a dappled gray pony. What a little devil she was.

No...Not fast, lol! She could lope slower then most horses

walk. No racing blood in her. She was all QH western pleasure bred with about 1/8 Appy. Her grandfather was QH Zippo Pine Bar, the leading QH sire of pleasure horse's and out of an App mare I bred and raised.

I did have a couple of foundation Appaloosa's my first one was born in 1959 and was a leopard mare, foundation stock. I also had a Red Eagle grandson.

shes beautiful!!!

I love watching pleasure classes, the amount of work, and training that goes into the horses is Amazing!! and there riders on them make it look effortless! Your pictures and horse are BEAUTIFUL! My first were Quarter horses, then a few arabs. My paint didn't work out for me. They kept me out of touble growing up, funny I think training dogs, and working with horses is the same but different. Thank you for sharing your pictures!!! We just have the old arab now who is wonderful, and our daughters pony who's breed is unknown and that has been a work in progress but she loves quiet kids, and has come along way. This is Myah and venus, and the only saddle I could find to fit her shes not quite 11 hands.

I ride barrel horses...

And I do understand nailing a ride! It feels great!

I had Appy's too...

but mine was foundation stock. Looks like your girl had a lot of the racing QH lines in her--bet she was FAST!!! One of these days I'll post pix of my horsies...they're all in prints and I have to scan them in first (don't know how to do that one!)
