We have had a few people in our area that purchased the salmon oil for dogs at Costco. A few weeks after using it the coats went to crap, the dogs started itching and looking moth eaten. A few of us locally put it together and stopped using it and the coats got better. The other day we were at the vet after a c-section and talking with the vet during recovery and we started talking about the coats and if he had seen any problems with the salmon oil. He said YES, the salmon used is hatchery salmon had has more metals in it vs.
Cash had corneal ulcers in the past, no more ulcers but he does have some scarring from them. I forgot to ask when I was last at the ophthalmologist but I thought that I read somewhere giving eye drops with steroids will help to get rid of the scarring?
Anyone have experience with this? Do I just let them heal on their own or should I call the vet and ask about the steroid eye drops..
Thanks!
Deuce has to go in for his rabies vaccine and we have the choice of 1 year or 3 year. My question is this, for the 3 year vaccine are they pumping in 3 times the amount of vaccine at once?? I know you HAVE to get rabies but can you titer to see the amount of vaccine still left in his system? I just don't want to over-vaccinate.
Today i took Dozer to the vet for his limp, he has had it off and on since he was 8 months and it mostly only shows up when he exercises hard or runs too much. A couple days crate rest usually saw him back on his feet and happy. Lately though he's been limping more and has had less pep in his step, not meeting us at the door as much things like that. He's only been going out to potty and he's been int he crate and it's just not getting better like it used to.
I am having a problem with 2 itchy dogs right now... kibby is slowly switching food, and i hope that will help. she is white, but looks like she is turning pink, rusty in her wrinkles, and biting her knees... she is also recovering from her uti.
Hello, we just got Chuck a week ago. He's 18 months old and awesome. Since the day we got him he's been pretty active, running up and down stairs chasing his toys, playing, jumping on the bed and wanting to sleep with us. He is crated during the day (or has been, I'm thinking that may not be the best thing), but for the past two days he has been a little "slower" he doesn't run, he doesn't want to go up and down the stairs, he does a lot of air licking and his drool is pretty frothy.
Layla has a weak pastern and I just started her on the Sure grow supplements . Is there anything else I can do to help it get stronger ? Does anyone have any experience with these supplements ?
Stella is three weeks out from her ACL repair, and has been recovering very well until last night. At her last check up she already had full range of motion and was using her leg very well. Dr. said to start having her walk inclines a few times a day. we have been walking a short hill 3x daily for a week with no problems. yesterday evening i noticed she was really favoring her leg again, and today she does not want to put much weight on it. she is gated into a small area and only has on leash activity. i'm very worried about this set back.
Our Bitch is expecting she is at 60 days estimated we had a tough night last night with her whinning and having hard time finding a good spot to sleep now we are waiting patiently we have taken her temp and its been consitant at 100 degrees for the last two days i guess its just waiting now for us we are soooo excited and cant wait for them to get here
