Can anyone tell me their experiences of Bulldog life expectancy? I know the text books say from 7 to 11 with about 9 being the average but I'd like to hear some real-life stories.

I haven't had much personal luck yet. My Brandi passed away at just under 2 years old, a little over 5 years ago. She died 4 days after having a c-section, but the actual cause was unknown. I believe she must have had complications with the anesthesia. My Buster passed away last summer to lymphosarcoma at 6.5 years old. Buster's sire (Moose) passed away at 6 years old due to a cancerous tumor in his back. His sire (Stubby) died at age 12 of natural causes.
I currently own Pepper (age 5) and Grady (age 16 months). Pepper's sire (Piper) passed away to natural causes at 9 years old. Her dam was Brandi (mentioned above). Grady's sire (Brew) is 5 years old, still looking great and healthy, and his sire (Poncho) just passed away at 9.5 years old. Grady's dam (CG) is currently 3.5 years old, looking better than ever.

My dogs mostly live anywhere from 9 to 14 years of age. This may be in the genes in my line because my first female , out of E Bredt's lines in Philadelphia lived to 14.
