Ozzy's eye is gooey.
It's not a greenish or yellowish discharge,
it's just gooey and it actually isn't bothering him
a whole lot. It looks like a dry eye/ allergy issue.
Anyway, we give Ozzy allergy shots and because of that
we are not supposed to use any systemic steroid type
treatment to treat any allergy symptoms that Adminse.
My question is this: Do you think it would be okay to use
cyclosporine drops in Ozzy's eye?
I know there's no ulcer present and overall it looks okay.
He keeps it open and all that. It's just gooey.
I can't get a hold of my vet and of course the other vet hasn't
returned my call (which was 6 hours ago).
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I bet she looks adorable
laying on her back in her pink bed
and I bet she doesn't hate you LOL
although sometimes I feel Ozzy hates us after all
the cleaning and swabbing and powdering and shots and
trimming etc etc that we do to him!

Belle's owner was afraid to cut her nails..
They were really long when I first got her because her owner was afraid to cut them. She said Belle tried to bite her. Belle snarfs, but she doesn't really bite. Her little growl sounds like a yodel. I used to just dodge her snaps and trim her nails.
It took me 3 years to figure out that if I put her on her back in her little pink donut bed, she is like a turtle. She can't move or bite. I dremmel all four feet while she just lays there. It's no wonder that she hates me. Poor thing.
poor Roxy, I hope it does too
good luck! I hope it's not a food issue and clears up
on it's own.
Have fun in Tahoe- sounds wonderful

Luckily....
I have Greg here to help me.
We lift him onto the kitchen counter where
I hold Ozzy then Greg will place the drops.
We've got it all figured out.
My duties are ear, wrinkle, butt, and paw care.
Greg's are eye care, allergy shots, and nail trimming.
We work like a well oiled machine. LOL
Ela1ne sounds pretty awesome!

Roxy's are gooey too.
Hope it's not the new NB food! Going to Tahoe tomorrow, so we shall see if it clears up while there.
You mean he's not a good boy for his eye meds?
Do you know how to lock him between your knees? If you straddle him and lock your knees behind his ribs, it keeps him in place and leaves your hands free to administer drops. I use that hold for cleaning Belle's ears.
Don't do that if he is reactive. My dogs are used to my torture, so they submit to pretty much anything I do to them.
If Ela1ne lived near you, she would come over and do it! She's that nice.
You think Ela1ne will come over and put the drops in Ozzy's eyes
LOL
It's a job, I tell ya.
Hope everything's good with you, Olivia

Yeah, I think it's just a dry allergy eye issue.
My vet's out of town and his associate JUST called me,
geez, I feel like I waited forever. They said it was okay
to use the cyclosporine drops.
Anyway, thanks for tips!!!!
I think I should pick up some of the OTC drops
to have on hand
I hope Junior's eye gets better too

I agree...
With both yelling for Ela1ne and the irrigation treatment!
Olivia/Kano/Q-Ball
I wouldn't without speaking to the vet. Give a shout out to Ela1
I would just use saline rinse and an OTC like Refresh Liquigel drops for dry eye. Or Genteal drops.
Junior has been gooey lately too and that's what I'm doing.
we have antibiotic drops too
but it seems his eye responds better with the
cyclosporine so I was thinking of starting with those
first.
Thanks Penny!!!
