Anna, I saw your post below about no more rescue posts

I'm responding here because I'm so late getting home from the Mardi Paws parade. For whatever reason, Webbie said no more posts about rescue except on Saturdays. I'm sure when the time is right he will let us know why he had to stop the rescue posts and I can tell you from years on this board, he doesn't do anything unless he has a good reason to do it. The rescue people formed their own forum, which is great. They now have a place where they can all post about rescues and I'm all for it. The one thing that bothers me is that they can post on Saturdays about their rescues here on this forum which is a huge forum, yet they have decided to cut off their nose to spite their face and ignore us. I have only seen posts from Keith with Adminzona Bulldog Rescue and Bergie about her rescue stories. Every Saturday I look to see what rescue stories are being posted here and there are none except what I have stated above. I feel like their attitude is "screw you" if we can't post anytime we want then we won't post at all. Tell me how that helps the dogs. I have given a s*itload of money to all the different rescue organizations on this board and would continue to do so if I knew what was going on. I only found out about the new rescue board when there was a post on it calling Sue a "crotchy old b*tch" and how dare Webbie not name a rescue bulldog "bulldog of the month" (which he has, Oreo, the first I remember). Do I sound bitter? You bet. I get e-mails from rescue organizations asking for money all the time. You want money? Then post your story on the website. And I will call you out by name!! Everyone of you have gotten money from me. Southern California Bulldog Rescue, Adopt-A-Bull Rescue, Heavensent Rescue (with the exception of Bergie's posts) Buddies Thru Bullies and Chicago English Bulldog Rescue. Where are your stories? Ok guys, I stated what has been building up since January and I'm letting it all out because I'm tired of bullsh*t getting in the way of helping dogs and I will tell you ahead of time, blast me all you want. The only good thing about being the age I am is you don't care what anyone says about you personally.

I would only post on saturdays to say if I adopt a dog,

I would never post about a new dog in rescue, because it could be taken that you are looking for donations, so I would rather not post anything to be safe, but I think I messed up by posting the link to the rescue forum, I didn't know it was against the rules to post a link, I apologize for that.

Wendy, I don't think any of were complaining ...

I was just responding to what Denise wrote. I am very cautious about adhering to the rules and I haven't made a single negative comment.

i Agree, I am afraid of saying the wrong thing so I say

nothing about any rescue-related topics, Saturday or not.

I don't think rescues have an attitude by not posting here

I was busy on Saturday picking up a new dog, and got busy and forgot to post, now I have to wait until next week to introduce him. Saturday is a busy day for rescues I am sure, and they cannot make a schedule to post. I think that comment was pretty mean to say.

Denise, darlin'

While I understand your concern regarding the rescues not posting during their designated times, I hope you can understand that posting at a specified time is sometimes difficult. The rescue forum was not intended to replace BDW in the hearts of the users. It seems to me that it's intended to be a resource for those interested in rescue. There's no competition here...it's two different forums with two different purposes...and that's ok. Please don't stop donating to rescue, whether it be $$$ or time, due to these differences. There's room for both forums. It's in the best interest of our beloved breed to deal with these differences without becoming angry. Celebrate both the rescue organizations everyday work, and the general love/information about the breed. I think that's what we have to do for the love of our bullies.

I have to agree with both Pam and Amanda

and I'm not here to blast anyone, nor did I on any site, but as a person who was very, very vocal about rescue and asking for people to participate in fundraisers, etc. I feel like I should say my peace on this as well, and I am only speaking for me.

I don't think people not posting here is so much of an "F-You" as it is a matter of hearing the message loud and clear that rescue related posts would be NOT accepted and then in a couple of months they would be accepted on Saturdays, but then no mention of fundraisers.....all valid rules and very clear but why put the effort into posting about a particular dog here on Saturdays when anyone interested in rescue can go onto the rescue site to read?

It's hard to process that something is prohibited on all days at all times, except in this window of time and then only certain information, etc. I'd just rather not do it than to risk doing it wrong - this is a place we go for fun, not for stress. People I know were surprised to say the least, and because we are passionate about the work, just as all of us bulldog people are about our dogs, it seems fair that we have a little time to step back and feel whatever we do about the situation. To active rescue volunteers, this change was the equivalent of a new set of rules being put into place whereby we no longer post about dogs younger than two years old, except on Thursdays, when you can and should.

I appreciate every single dollar that everyone here spent in helping rescue dogs and hope that people find a way to do that, should it be something they wish to do. I would hope that no one supported any effort that they didn't want to, and am eternally grateful to all the dogs that have been helped as a result.

I still post here sometimes and still consider many, many people here my friends, but I don't need to worry about what day it is when posting about particular topics so I just steer totally clear of that. Anyone who is interested in rescue news is always welcome on the rescue-themed board.

Why are we bringing all this crap up again???

I think its pretty well been beat to death here. Pam and Amanda are right on with their posts. Its timing pure and simple. Saturday is without a doubt our busiest day.

Davids Forum. Davids Website. David makes the rules.

I enjoy his site and have for going on 7 years. I dont always agree with him and he and I have had different opinions on things and he will tell you so himself. But you know what? ITs his site. If he wants everyone to start their posts with the phrase "Dave is great" then guess what... if you want to post here, thats what you gotta do. If you dont want to abide by the rules he sets for his board, then dont post here. Its not a fight, its just the way it is.

If Dave made the call on rescue posts, you can bet he had a reason. Its not because he hates rescues... its because he was forced to make a call and he made it.

I have one comment

Rescue is a very real part of those lives who volunteer and dedicate our times to those organizations. It is something that happens everyday for us.

I understand that Webbie has a reason for his actions, and I completey respect that. But sometimes our good or bad stories don't come just on Saturdays. They come all throughout the week and by the time Saturday rolls around, we have more things to take care of.

For us, rescue is a 24-7 thing, not just Saturdays.

Absolutely, Pam, I don't know how you all do it.

Although I can't speak for everyone ...

For a lot of people who work in rescue, Saturday is a very busy day. HeavenSent has most events on Saturdays - usually twice /mo ... sometimes more. Most home visits are done on saturdays , a lot of vet visits ,picking up dogs, baths - what else ? When you work full time and deal wiht all the things that rescue brings, it's hard to make a point of posting on a particular day. Webbie picked Saturday.

Last Saturday I posted what I thought was a happy message and a link to a photostream about our Bulldog Kissing Booth event. I think maybe 4 people commented.

I wasn't asking for donations or showing pictures of a sad looking dog. It was good rescue news.

Anyone is welcome on the rescue message board. Mentioning it here is inappropriate and soliciting participation via e-mail would seem sneaky. The rescue people were all notified of the board and I guess word gets around slowly.

And now I'm not even sure if THIS message is going to be ok because it happens to be Sunday. I don't post much anywhere any more.

100% correct!

I don't always agree with Webbie but it is his forum.

His rules.

Like it or not.
(I've left a few times but after thinking about it I realized he has his reasons for the rules. Most of the time I agree 100%, there are a few times I don't agree but if you consider his point of view I can't say I wouldn't do it any other way)

I think it was due to a nasty comment made-

My own thoughts...

Remember when the what ever it was called contest that was going on was happening (the one for a 10K prize).

The group that won got flat out nasty in their bragging and the ban happened shortly after. (it was an awful post that ruined the groups name in my own and I'm sure others eyes)

Not sure if thats why the ban happened but I have to feel that was a large part of it.

Shame though. So many were helped due to this board and so many could still be helped. There is another rescue forum though that can hopefully do some good!!!!

One quick note...Sophia is a rescue and she was bully of the mon

On Webbie's behalf, I don't see what all the fuss was about. His forum, his rules:-)
