Zappper update, Dr. Pete just called, Zapper is under and
Submitted by Dave and Zapper on April 21, 2010 - 12:34amsurgery is starting. Zapper also has a hernia, which we were aware of, and Dr,. Pete is gonna fix it too since he's already under. I was gonna wait on that but he said it would be very simple and no extra stress so I said go ahead and do it.
They are calling me every time they do something so I look to hear from him again soon

Gus had his hernia fixed at the same time as his neuter
As you say, the fewer times under the better. He did well with both procedures and I would expect Mr. Zapper to do the same.

Lisa, Dr. Pete is a super nice guy. I told the techs this mornin
after every step and Dr. Pete personally is calling me. He sees about 30 bullies a week. Dr. Pete got started working in another local vet's office when he was 13 years old.

Sounds like your vet is wonderful!
My vet has never called me until after surgery was done. And I'm glad they can get everything done at once will be so much better than having to put him under again.

Always a big relief
when they are back home where they belong. Glad the surgery went well.
AND Welcome back
Zapper had a hernia as a puppy and it was fixed but
it had ruptured again and he had 4 large openings in his tummy. Dr. Pete said we were lucky to have caught it when we did and if it ruptured again he would put in some type of steel sutures. He said he cut away the old scar tissue and brought together new and tighter muscle.

Dave, What was going on with his hernia? I have a male with one and they said not to worry about it because it is from the way his cord was tied off. Now I'm worried!!!
