Your Prayers are Helping!

Little Daisy seems to have turned the corner overnight and her breathing is improving!!!!! The vets were very pessimistic yesterday and didn't think she would make it but today they are saying she is getting better and there is a good chance she will recover and come home!!!!! The antibiotics are helping and she is a tought little fighter.

Thank you for all of your good thoughts and prayers, everything helps and we are very hopeful right now we will be able to bring little Daisy back home with us and her mama Polly!

Power of Prayer on BDW

I totally believe in the power of prayer of this board...it's amazing some of the stories and their outcomes all because of the wonderful people on BDW and their prayers...

So happy to hear that you are seeing positive signs in Daisy's recovery. Keeping the prayers going that she will be home soon with you.....

Good to hear of slow improvements.

I know with dogs in oxygen, they want to keep not only a steady flow for breathing support, but a steady temperature inside the cage...but they do open it or take her out for very brief periods to "test" how she is able to breathe on her own, and as she continues to eat and remain active (all excellent signs) they will try more often/bit longer periods of "testing her" before they release her. I hope this little bit of info helps you feel positive about her treatment. happy.gif

Back from visiting Daisy.

I finally got in to see little Daisy, they have a strict no visitors policy for dogs with pneumonia since they get put in isolation. Daisy got transferred into the isolation area late yesterday and we weren't allowed to see her after that. After much back and forth I finally spoke with a hospital administrator who got me permission for a brief visit this afternoon. I just wanted to see Daisy myself, I understand their policy but she's just a little puppy and I am sure she is scared there. She walked over to the water bowl and drank a little and then walked back and pressed her little face against the glass window and looked up at me. They opened the window briefly for me to be able to pet her and talk to her. She still has some labored breathing but she is improving. She also ate all of her breakfast very eagerly they said so I think it is good that she still has a good appetite.

They expect her to be there at least two more days, but as long as she continues to improve and gets home I am happy to have her there. I know the vets, nurses and techs are taking great care of her and keeping a special eye on her and feel hopeful she will be home sometime next week.

Thanks again for all of your well wishes for little Daisy!!!

Good news indeed!---

Hope she's back home again in no time...positive energy coming for that sweet little girl of yours!
