I've been meaning to ask if you Bulldog is computer literate? Doesn't matter when, day or night, I get on the computer that when AOL says "You've Got Mail", my Fluff comes from whatever part of the house and lays in her cozy bed next to the compute. I can be on for an hour, she's snoring away, and as soon as it says "Good By", up she gets and walk to the door way waiting for me....
It makes me laugh every time, and have been meaning to ask if anybody elses bully does this?? Or, may-be something even crazier.
Completely!
She has to be next to it (laptop) and has to put a paw on the keyboard; otherwise, she gets VERY offended and gives me that look...you know the one!
They're wonderful manipulators!!!
It's ok, I leave messages, too
LOL,, don't worry, you are the only one to leave messages to the dogs. I do that also, and bet there are lot's of others. I really don't know what's wrong with that, we all know they are borderline human.
retrieving messages
Well, to get our messages we dial a star and two numbers, so if my dog can ever do that, I'll be quitting my day job! Lol!
Janis
he loves to chase the "mouse"
augie will sit next to me on the couch and if he sees the little arrow moving across the laptop screen he will try to bite it. it is so hilarious!! but my screen gets very slobbery :(
Grover's definitely into communication...
Grover LOVES getting telephone calls! Essentially the same as yours hearing "You've Got Mail," he comes tearing into the living room when he hears the phone ring and he sit through the conversation, looking at us. When we hang up, it's back to normal.
I can't IMAGINE how crazy it must drive him when we're not home and it rings until the machine answers! (I have been known to leave him messages though...) =)
Julia & Grover
well, not yet...
Petey is still a baby, but he curls up under the computer desk below the lowest shelf about 6 inches above the floor (when mommy is on the computer). And to think I was concerned with getting a wire crate so he would have ventilation and not feel too closed in! LOL!

Janis re: retrieving messages
Janis,
you have to get an answering machine that allows you (your dog in this case) to hear the messages as they are being left!
when my guy was still a pup and crated, I would call from work and talk to him (yes, I know I'm nuts), but always wondered if that was soothing to him or more stressful, to hear my voice when I'm not there!
