young children and bullies

Do any of you have young kids like 3yrs and a active bully that sometimes knocks them down and can have wild bursts of energy? If so how do you deal with it...Of course I always supervise or crate him when i can't but just wondered

I can't train the child

I have a 3yr old daughter and a 1 yo bullie. I can and have trained the bullie to leave my daughter alone, but I can't get my daughter to leave the dog alone. Bulldog is 50 lbs of pure muscle and when she gets the zoomies, we all just get out of the way. She can hip check my husband and flatten the rest of us. When not in zoomie mode, she is great with everyone. "Leave it" took awhile to learn, but now it is a savior when the bullie wants whatever my daughter has.

But seriously, it is a daily reminder to my daughter not to take things from the dog.....

Re: Thank you threse

I sooooo know how you feel. Zoomies one way, kids the other way... MOOMMMYY PUPPY TOOK MY TOY!!!
For me going to classes are my peace and quite. And a chance to talk to adults.

Thank you threse

I know young kids and bully's

Hi I Usually just lurk but would like to comment.
I also have a 3 year old and a 8 year old boys with 2 bullies. The best thing is to go to obedience classes or rally. It really zonks them out. A tired bulldog is a happy bulldog. Plus it's really good for you and your bully to bond and have special time just the two of you. happy.gif
