"Yeasty" Bulldog

Hello-
We took our bulldog Maddie to the vet yesterday for a suspected ear infection and the vet determined she had a severe yeast infection in her ear. We are treating the ear infection with meds and ear cleaner, but wasn't given very much info on prevention or the cause of the infection. We were unable to see our regular vet yesterday, so unfortunately we had to go to a different vet. Other than her ears we have noticed her nose wrinkle, tail pocket and sometimes her feet smell of yeast. I don't know if there is something we can do cut down on the yeast (changing food, adding supplement to food?) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Ashley and Maddie

I can recommend some supplements that...

I find helpful for myself and my 2 bulldogs.

DIGEST ASSURE This is a digestive enzyme formula.

FRIENDLY FLORA This a Probiotic and Prebiotic supplement that will help prevent yeast buildup. It also helps the immune system and digestive system.

www.procapslabs.com

I persoanally buy these supplements in a 60 count supply, on auto-delivery, because I like the fact that I receive the freshest batch. When you purchase them click the Auto-Delivery option, if that's how you want to receive them. You can save 10% that way too.

I take various other supplements for myself from this company and have been very happy with their quality. I like that they are Additive-Free and produced entirely by Solar Energy, and Made in USA in Nevada.

for my dog

I switched her to a grain free kibble, and she threw it up almost every day, so after 5 days of that I switched her to raw. She has not thrown up since! I did a strict food trial, only one protein and NOTHING else whatsoever for 4 weeks, and on the raw lamb the yeast went away. She has since had several different protein sources added back to her diet, all of them raw, and still no yeast. One time, I tried giving her freeze dried raw beef as training treats, meat only, no vegggies, no fillers, BUT it had added chemical vitamins. Within a week her face was smelling yeasty again. I eliminated it, no yeast. I think she is sensitive to chemicals, as well as grains.

She is already on grain free..

Taste of the Wild. Should we try another grain free brand?

I agree with Cathy!~

My dog's yeast problem was food related

when we eliminated grains from her diet the yeast went away.
