Worried

Well now that I've posted Abbey's picture; doesn't seem like people think I actually have a bulldog. Some say she has no nose wrinkles, long legs and a docked tail. Looks like mixed with a Boxer.

I guess time will tell, I've been in contact with the person I bought her from, I answered an ad in the Dallas classified ads, and she wrote me the other day saying the AKC registration was pending, probably two more weeks. I've had Abbey now going on four weeks.

I looked on the American Bulldog site and Abbey is just not that tall. 11 week old puppy's are gangly like Boxers.

I love my baby, but feel like maybe I shouldn't be here anymore because people don't think she's legit.

Bella

Could you post a picture of Bella for me now?

Is Bella registered?

Yes, I love her, very much.

She has a rather "drunk" face, worried she may need an "eye lift" when she's older, she kind of has a bloodhound face, but LET'S NOT GO THERE!!!!

Maybe I shoulda named her "Tramp"??

Its ok

My Bella is an Olde English and she isnt that tall, but has a smaller nose wrinkle and a docked tail. I actually prefer both because it preempts a lot of problems. I think Abbey is georgeous, and in your eyes probably 10 times so. The first time I posted a pic of Bella I got a similar reaction, and yes it does hurt. Just ignore it. These are really nice people, but sometimes they are unintentionally hurtful when they point out flaws. Hug Abbey for me, she is a TOTAL cutie

I AGREE!

I am sorry, but I cant remember which one is your baby! I see so many pics, but Ill go look for her. Im no expert but a lot of people here are.

Seems to me you have two issues going:

Is she a full-blooded Bulldog? I got an Old English Sheepdog once with AKC papers but the "breeders" lied about who the daddy was and he was a mutt! Best dog I ever had til Henry came along- but AKC can be lied to and you can end up with a mix breed who is registered through AKC. This happens ALL THE TIME!!!

Your other issue is whether or not you belong here. Dont be silly! Ofcourse you do! Glad to have you!!!!
Welcome aboard!!!

Wendy

Re: Worried

Don't be silly. You are always welcomed at this site no matter what type of dog you have.

Kathy

Your Pork Chop is a doll and

you better stay right here and keep those pictures of her coming our way.

LOL, he just clawed me for forgetting him

excellent reminder! thanx

and don't forget cat b*#stard....n/m

And Lu has posted pics of her snakes!!

Great pics, too.

We love your pup.

You are soooooo welcome here and dont you dare leave. There are people here with other breeds also and we love them just as much. Some bulldogs just take awhile to develop into their bulldog looks. Does this make sense? I think I am rambling now.

bullie or rainbow breed.....abbey is beautiful

and of course you both belong and are more then welcome here....
and Gary's right I have posted all my yelpsx5 gumbo gang here at one time or another, even my bearded dragon who NO bullie in him...and even hubby who is only part bullie...the good things like slow swaggering walk..and adorable comic relief..but he has no papers...lol
I don't know if she is or isn't I just see her sweet mug those too cute chubby legs....
my point she is a lovie...on the pratical side I do hope you were not duped...but on the side of the heart...she's perfect and that's what counts most....smiles and hugs...and welcome...ce

Can't get your email address. Email me at staceydolotina@mhd.com.

thanks for your friendship!

Time will tell

Maybe she is going to grow into her wringles. I have a tall Bully aswell will little wringles. By all means don't go anywhere! We would all love to see her grow up and see what she looks like as an adult. She could be going threw her awkard teenage stage.

Don't worry

Bulldogs grow at their own rate and sometimes it take two years for the head to develop and they all go through what I call a gangly stage where the legs look long the head looks small they don't look like what they use to but then it all seems to come together.
As to being welcome You are more than welcome. We don't all have show quality some of us just have a very loving and cute family pet.

I post pics of my Lhasa, Robin posts pics of her St. Bernard, De

d, etc. Your puppy is beautiful and clearly has a lot of bulldog in her. I do agree that she is probably an Old English Bulldog or has something like boxer in her. The Old EBs I've seen look almost just like a regulard English Bulldog, just with taller legs. I nearly bot one myself when I got Boo last September. There are some breeders who will try to take advantage of people, but it really comes down to your individual preference. If you love Abby, don't worry about what anyone else thinks. You're as welcome here as anyone else.

Well, except for The Earl. He's a real bad character who chases ambulances down on the bayou. Stay away from him.

Off the record..

May I contact you via email? I thought I read there was no such thing as an Olde English Bulldog. I'd like to hear your experience.

Hey Stacey,

I actually went through a similar situation. IMO, she looks like an Olde English Bulldog. As puppies they tend to look like boxers/american bulldogs, but when they get older (about a year old) they look more like bulldogs (not exactly like the english breed, but similar). Again, that's just my opinion. However, I would press the breeder who sold her to you. If she's not a full breed English and that's what she sold her to you as, then you are entitled to some sort of compensation.

Carolina & Lola

Really upset....

Well I paid $1100 for her. There was a pure white boxer and a brindle. Didn't want a white male and the other brindle didn't have as many wrinkles as Abbey did.

If I receive papers from AKC does that mean she is a purebread?

Is there anyway I can find out about the papers? The gal mentioned that she's looked on their website and the papers are pending?

Also, maybe post another picture, could be the view we are seein

Even if she/he turns out not to be full bred bully, you will be welcome here, there are many posters who do not even have bullys who post here... sometimes when people post messages, its misunderstood ... this comes from not being able to hear someones tone when they are writing something, dont be offended, I dont think anyone would intentionally say anything meaning you where not welcome here if your pup wasnt a bully... BTW WELCOME!!!!

HOGWASH!

You belong here! IMO - she is part bulldog part boxer.
And quite the cutie too, I might add. Not to fear, there are other mixes on this board - whether they realize it or not lol!

I think my first bulldog might have had some boxer in her - she had a docked tail too.....http://www.luvin4paws.com/Dynas%20story.htm

I wouldn't hold my breath on those AKC papers, stacey. But honestly, who cares - loving that baby is what it is about!!!!

I welcome you into our family
Don't go anywhere!

scroll down, Frannie - its there....n/m

Abbey doesn't look like a Bulldog... but she is cute

I think you should be worried! Not from the people on the board but if you paid the Bulldog price for her and didn't get a Bulldog than the breeder is riping you off. She is a sweety but she doesn't look like a Bulldog at all. Check her pedigree.

Stacey...

Dont feel like you shouldnt be here Can you post a picture I would love to see your bully..

Dont' worry

If you love bulldogs as much as we all do, then you belong here. I think your baby is beautiful. Don't let what one person says speak for the rest of us. What matters is that you love your puppy!

OH yeah, I'm feeling ya!

Big...sexy...PAYCHECKS are a must!
Emily

I tried to get hubby's AKC papers

Something about being born in East Texas is an immediate disqualification. But I didn't marry him for his looks. I get all excited everytime he pulls out that big, sexy

paycheck.

Please stay!

I apologize if I made you feel unwelcome, as that was certainly not my intention at all when I posted earlier, wondering if Abbey may be a Boxer x Bulldog mix. Whether she is 100% bulldog or not, you're definitely welcome here!
