White Bullie?

White Bullie----Are solid white Emglish bulldogs--rare? Harder to get? Thanks

dark fawn brindle..

Now that one is nice!

White bullies

There are a couple of prominent breeder/judges out there that specifically breed white bullies.

White & white = white.

Not rare at all.

me too

Solid white is not uncommon at all but what is less common is a solid white with no ticking or pigmentation coming through the coat (not talking about their underside). These dogs have such a presence on the show floor and are so parkly they seem to glow. While white is my least favorite color, I would love to have one with no ticking.

To me, a true fawn is less common that a solid white. I rarely see true fawns either at shows, in photos or just out and about where the bulldogs roam

DARK FAWN BRINDLE

I love the color of this dog!

Dark Brindle

I like it but it can make them monkey faced.

dark brindle..

I dont prefer one that dark, I think it takes away from their expressions.

i would really love to see a picture of one...anyone??

How true!!

You see over the years in areas how type, color, etc. changes because of the stud at the time. Sometimes it is unfortunate because a stud will become popular too soon, and after you have too many puppies and dogs out of him, you find some health issue that is being passed on, too.

Re: White Bullie?

SOLID white is not rare, not any more than finding a solid red, solid fawn, solid brindle. You'll find with the coloreds if you don't have a white chest, blaze, collar around the neck and feet, you'll have at least a smidgeon of color on the chest or a little blaze of white on the head.

The same is with white. You'll have whites, that might have a little mark of color here or there. Or, even if they are white, they will get "ticking", which is like freckles coming thru, commonly on the ears, but can also be on the body anyway.

So, to say it is rare, not any more rare than getting a solid color or any. Actually, I think I've seen more solid whites that I have of solid reds, brindles, etc.

But, I also have heard of some pet breeders/con artists that will charge more for a solid white (though the actual quality of the dog is not good), telling a novice person that it is rare, thus costs more.

I guess it's what the market bears, if someone is intent on an all white one, they'll pay anything.

Depends on what stud is in "vogue"

Some studs do produce white pups, some don't (it depends on mum aswell, off course). If a white producer is used a lot, a lot of white puppies are available.

It might not be as visible in the States as it is in a small Bulldogcountry like Holland, but the vogue is there.

About 20 years ago a breeder would die for a good white one, 10 years ago, I stood in the ring with my white guy, and three others in a class of 6 dogs.

Nowadays, it is all beige and dark brindle what is seen in the showring......

Thanks !!

Thanks !! it feels good to be back....once, I get rolling... I will post my name.

I don't think so

but I guess it depends on the breeder.

Re: White Bullie?

white is one of the naturally occuring colours of bulldogs, unlike other animals where white colouring is considered an albino.

i've seen lots of them...perhaps not SOLID white but with a few brown spots. i have seen some all white with brown polka dot ears....VERY cute!!
