What does it mean when your dog puts his ears back?

Just wondering. When Sheldon makes facial expressions sometimes he puts his ears back. What does this mean? Thanks.

Joanna & Sheldon

I haven't a clue as to how to post pics to the board...

I can send you an email attachment if you like...I name my pets after people in the movies etc....
she is named Darla after the Darla on the little rascals

I've always taken it as a sign of them going "huh?!?!" or being

on the situation...do you think this applies to when Sheldon does it?

Yes, darla does this to...or she has them stick straight up...

she really looks funny when she does this..especially when she is asleep

Darla

I have a two legged daughter named Darla. Can you post a pic of your Darla

Not really

He seems to do it when he is interested in something. Like if I ask him if he want's a cookie, he'll look at me, but his ears back and wiggle his bum. It's like he is trying to tell me something. I also have a few pictures from doggie day care where his ears are totally back, it almost looks like they are missing from the picture. I'm sure there is some doggie psychology answer to this, like the play bow. Would love to know what it means.
