Last Thursday, Ollie and Mozie got into "fisticuffs" over Ollie's ball. Apparently she nipped his left front leg about 4" above the paw--I noticed a hole on Saturday--it was under the hair--and it started to swell over the weekend and got pretty big. I was giving benadryl and aspirin, but even tho the swelling is mostly down Mozie began running fever. We decided to take them both to the vet. Both received rabies vaccinations--no problem (they were due for one), Mozie is on antibiotics, and vet said the worst is over. Ollie girl has an ear infection!!! She is on antibiotics for her ears twice a day. Both meds for both dogs can be given morning and evenings so it won't be a big challenge. I am so glad we took them both. We wouldn't have known about the ear infection until she was much sicker. They are both hopping around like it was a great adventure.
I hope everyone else's day was less complicated. We found a great vet who has bulldog clients, so after quizzing them, I made an appointment. If they ever need "serious" care, we'll go to the bully specialist we usually go to. One hour's drive is much easier than almost four hours.
