well things sure have been spinning here for the last few hours...

My daughter Rach,,,and her friend also Rachael...took our springer BeanBag for a walk..
and next thing I know only one Rach is at my door...
seems my Rach is limpimg down the hill with sweet boy Beanbag ..after a huge golden.flew across the street from them..and attacked BeanBag...this according to an elderly couple that were in their yard..and the gentleman grabbed a Hoe and started after the dog...
the golden just lunged in and grabbed BeanBag by the throat..and was making very vicous sounds...but before the man could get there my daughter ,,,flung herself on the golden....and wrestled her off of BeanBag the golden ended up dragging my daughter several feet..before help got there...BeanBag did not get hurt...he is just a very gentle sweet fellow and went belly up..and is now just shaking and wanting his girl to cuddle him...my daughter took off some skin ..elbows,knees..shoulder,,,and took a hard hit to the knee..but she is alright...
Everyone there said that they couldn't believe how fast my Rach just dive bomb the big golden...and with all her might flung both the golden and herself off her BeanBag...they all said she was very brave..and they were quite astounded being the golden was very big....and really going at BeanBag ...the strength of love and a her protecting her BeanBag...
...I talked to the owner..who said the dog had escaped(again)earlier that morning..and that he had taken his 3 legger lab to work and keep him in a crate in the car that day because he always escaped...he was very nice...and wanted to be sure Rach and BeanBag were okay...and maybe I should take them both to the doctor ..and vet...I told him that I wasn't pressing charges...they just moved to our village...and he was shocked...said he would if it was his daughter...lol
...but I did tell him that his dog was dog aggressive..very people friendly..but still he needed to find a better set up then his back yard where both his dogs are home all day..and dig their way out...and to promise me that he will not take his dogs to work and leave them crated in the car all day..he said well it's only in the 60's and 70's right now and he wouldn't do it on a hot day...sigh..so I basically as kindly as I could gave him some facts about temps..in cars...and the danger he was putting his dogs in..he agreed to fix the problem ...and leave both dogs home inside the house...doh!
...My concern was that some very small chil'ons walk their dogs around here...and they may not have been able to stop this big golden..and I often walk 2-5 dogs at once...and I'm not dropping my leads to have to wrestle a dog off my lovies either...so I hope the problem is solved...
all is well ..My daughter is watching Tv cuddled up with Beanbag and MoJo...with an ice pack on her knee...so we are lucky....thanks for letting me ramble on...ce

yikes, your daughter is very brave... gald to hear everyone is O

and that you gave the golden's owner a little education on how to properly take care of his dog... I really hope he stops the car crate thing... that's awful!

Really Ce

Being that she is your daughter I see it perfectly natural for her to do what she did. What a great kid you have there.

Rebecca

OMG!

Glad to hear everything turned out o.k!

Wow, she has quick reaction time.

How old is she? I would review with her that she could have been in danger, particularly if she tackled another breed of dog. There was a story her just the other day about a pit bull attacking someone.
Do you think you could give your policeman a call and ask him to give the man a warning of some kind. He needs a sitter to come in and let them out. Or really deal with the golden in some kind of training capacity.

You go girl

Rach is brave....thank goodness she is okay!

Daughter like Mother...

Funny how your kids have the same strong feelings about certain things. Your dogs sure are members of your family.

goodness

Glad to hear everyone is OK. I can't believe an agresssive golden......but then again, i guess I can, they say there is so much inbreeding and irresponsible breeding, that Goldens (normally such sweet dogs) are getting aggressive, this is such a shame and so sad. Hope everything turns out OK. Your daughter was very brave.

wow thats my biggest scare...

Some darn dog coming after my bulls---heck I dont even want you coming after Augie.

Wow

Geez, Ce, things sure get exciting at your place!! Rach certainly is a brave young lady, but I will bet she never even gave it a thought before she threw herself on that Golden. I am glad that everyone is OK for the most part. Rach deserves a medal for saving the yelpster!!

Boy for the love

I can't imagine how much trama they have been though for one day. You all were very luck the dog didn't turn on her.

I am glad all is well

What a day. I hope the man can get his yard fixed. That just seems so weird for a golden. Take care

Wow...hope everyone is ok

Rach you wondergirl!!!! I am glad you were able to break it up, but sorry to hear you got a little banged up in the process. Hope you are feeling better. Tell mom to give you and Beanbag extra snacks and treats tonight!

Sue

This happen to Angs and me...

Hate to say this but yo may want to find out what the law is. Your daughter is ok but next time it may be a little one walking a sog and wont be able to defend at all. Or worst yet no neighbors out to help. We found out that You at least have to report, if no one reports your ading to the problem. In my city they know what dogs have attacked on what streets etc. now know what streets NOT to walk down. I HATE TO BE THE DOWNER HERE!!! TRUST ME,,, I AM HAPPY GO LCKY GIRL. But think of it as helping everyone out in your city. I dont want to even get into the fact that he leaves his dogs in the car!!! I would report that 2. I now carry what post men carry when I walk my Angus. I am still freaked out!! Makes me sad since I live in such an amazing city, and every morning and every night when we walk im so jumpy.....

Go Rach...

...does she house- and puppy-sit..?? ..I'll pay for airfare as long as she doesn't have to fly Piedmont..!!

Thank God she is O.K. and that BeanBag is in one piece! She is a brave soul.. ..like her momma.. and knows how to protect her pooches.. Give her a hug from us and let her know we're glad she's in one piece!!

Thank goodness Rach or

Beanbag were not hurt. What a brave thing for her to do, I am just so thankful that she was not bitten.

Hope your feeling better Rach!

That was really BRAVE! I don't know if I'd want between an aggressive dog or two! I'm a chicken sometimes:) Hope it doesn't happen anymore. Malinda

Rach - you little hero

Ce,

You taught her well. What she did was very dangerous, I'm glad she has no major injuries. She reacted as best she could to protect her much loved dog. Can't get any better then that.

Lynn K

How awful!

I am SO glad to hear they are both okay though! You must be so proud of your daughter and how protective she is of your furry babies. She sounds like a wonderful young lady!

Give them both a hug for me!

Deb

Can't believe he leaves his dog in the car all day

Sorry to hear about that incident. Hope Rachel and Beanbag are feeling much better. As for the neighbor, why would he leave his dog in the car all day?? Even at 70 degrees, that is taking a big chance.

Geez Louise!

I'm glad you got to talk to the owner--and I'm really glad he was so cordial and apologetic---sometimes that doesn't happen I'm especially glad that your babies are okay---what an adventure!?!?!?

Love them Bullies!
