Ace will probably be concerned until he gets his buddy back. It's probably a surgery your vet has done many times, so no worries. We hate any time they have to be put under. I always insist on a call as soon as they wake up. I don't worry after they are up and conscious. Actually I usually call before they get a chance to call me. Nobody has ever seemed to mind.
I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.
Hugs and pick up all the food and water!
