The good news is she doesn't have mange again! Yeah! The bad news is he thinks she has allergies and wants me to change her food from Canidae. The thing that really ticks me off is -- about 2 mths ago I took her to our other vet(at a different practice) because I suspected she had a food allergy because she was licking her paws and inbetween her little paws the fur was all red. Well, he just acted like I was just looking for something to be wrong with her and dismissed me with a cortisone shot and some antibiotics. Well, now look -- it just might be a food allergy! So now we are on the search of a better dog food for her!! Any suggestions???
Bay is looking forward to walking on the beach:O)
He loves the seashore. We call him the dock dog as he loves to walk out on the docks at our place.
Thanks Carrie. We are going to try to relax. Now if the weather will just cooperate.
Kisses for Vito too.
Food Allergies
My last bullie had food allergies that we never could solve and she was on prednisone to help control them. The vet did say most allegeries are caused by food but then said it was very difficult to find out what foods. That does not seem an area in which they work with owners on. I am sure lots of people here have many helpful hints. Good luck and congrats that it is not mange.
have a great vacation....
robin, have a great time, and relax and enjoy! yes, please keep in touch, you can e-mail me anytime! give bay hugs and kisses from me!!

Not today Carrie...
We are seeing another vet for a second opinion on Sept. 15th. We are going to our shore house for a week or ten days so had to wait until then. In the mean time we will have a chance to see how he does on the new food.
I appreciate you thinking about him Carrie. I have my Lap top in Cape May so will keep in touch while we are away. :O)

We Have The Same Problem
with Bay. He is licking and biting his feet. We had been feeding him Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato. Today I had to get more food so I bought Solid Gold Holistique Blendz at the reccomendation of the Pet Supply store owner. We will see if it helps any.
Will let you know if it does. :O)
Good luck with Miss Daisy.
I've read about others having....
loose stool problems with Wellness but Chalmer is definitely not one of them. His sometimes are actually too firm....lol Go figure.
Really? Maybe I should try it again for longer....
The loose stools could have been caused by the enviornment change rather than the food. We've only had her for three weeks. Now if I can convince my husband, the official poop scooper, to let me switch her back. LOL
I didn't notice
the licking of her paws for about 4 months after I switched her over to Canidae. But in the beginning of the summer I noticed it more and more with her. Which they say it takes a good 3 months for a dog food change to really affect a dog. I'll let you know what I decide, I guess tonight I will spend researching different dogfoods and see if I can get them in my area instead of having to ship them in.
Boy they are all sooo different aren't they!?!......
Chalmer is on Wellness fish and sweet potato and he has no gas (well not stinky anyway) and his stools are firm! Unique individuals....that's what our babies are.
KAREN
Sorry, that should have said from Karen, not Kim. Was typing too fast. But it's me! Hope Daisy feels better soon.
Food
Glad to hear it's not mange! As far as food, have you tried Natural Balance Duck/Potato? It had worked great for Rocky's allergies (and he liked it and is a picky eater) and his new family has kept him on it. Good food.
hmmm I've been noticing that Roxy is licking since...
I switched her from Wellness fish and potato to Canidae. She's licking her feet and between toes too. I really don't know what to do because my husband hates the gas and loose stools that Wellness causes. Let me know what you come up with.
Glad she's back
and hope it is just a alergy. That can be handled with a diet change.
