Ways we bond to the bulldog...
Submitted by Anonymous on April 21, 2010 - 12:35amI was sitting here with Gus today and reading a book on the couch. not a tv person but I do love to read. Gus puts his head in my lap and I scratch and pet him and he is tenth heaven. I am sure he sees that as great bonding time..
Bella on the other hand..is a very active bully. she prefers to bond through playing. she is really a happy happy bully if someone just throws a tennis ball for her. she is a not a touchie feely type of bulldog..lol at all. but she does love to play.
how do you bond to your bulldog??
PS..maybe should not say that is but...
on occasion I will hand feed Gus too..he just loves to be handfed. but not handfeeding 5 dogs..but Gus getting hand fed and a good book..he loves it..

In different ways with my two....
Mabel has always been toy orientated, so I always spend a little time playing with her, throwing her toys, chasing her for them lol. She absolutely loves it when I sneak my hand towards her....she gets all excited and does a bully twirl:)
Sid loves his one on one cuddle time. He just has to be touching you when on the sofa...usually his chin resting on my leg. I give him some head and ear scratches, and I can tell that it is just bliss for him:)
With both of them, I will take treats and do the sit, down, shake a paw thing. They love getting rewarded, so I do things that makes getting a reward fun.
Wow whe are exactly the same
Except Jewels is a girl... she is a cuddler.. loves to just hang out.. Oscar (male) bonds with his toys.. He has a toy in his mouth at all times and actually sleeps with one... he will finally fall asleep and has his ball right next to him....while jewels has neem sleeping next to me watching tv for hours.. Funny

but the real bonding, for her, seems to be just doing stuff and of course walks.

with Daisi it's every night when she sleeps under the covers in bed, something special about that and we've done it for years even before I was married.
With Nacho it's when he will actually lay on me on the couch and fall asleep with his head on the crook of my neck and I can feel his breath rise and fall.

We have our little routine, she's allowed on the bed while we're watching TV and she's glued next to me.
Audrey loves to play ball
and cuddle in bed. She is getting more and more cuddly as she gets older. I LOVE it!

is all about the ball and daddy! He waits for hubby to come in the door, then the rump goes up and the head goes down with a ball ready for daddy to kick. This is an obsession with him! He can be cuddly with mom, but he would rather play with dad.

Cuddle time!
Every night Zimmer waits for me to sit at my spot on the couch, he climbs up right next to me & snuggles by my side. When I'm not there, he's next to hubby.
