No. It's an ancient Roman holiday, co-opted by the Church and then downgraded to a lover's holiday. It's popular all around the world, so much that some countries (China and Saudi Arabia among others) have banned it and celebrating it can land you in jail.

The best Valentine's Day gift is?
Spending time with a person.

What actually was your first attraction to your valentine?
He was short, smart, Jewish and a hardbody. He had a bulldogness about him (wide shoulders, a cute smile, big brown eyes.) I like that in a guy.
