has anyone heard of a bitch that soils her bedding then is happy to lay down on the wet bed? I was wondering if it was related to alpha status or some other wierd behavior. I would appreciate some input.

bed,and any other dogs bed. She has been known to pee on my bed too.
She has no problem peeing and rolling in it. Right now we have alot of rain, so she has no problem peeing where ever she wants except outside. Everytime she gets on all 4's she is booted outside and watched until she pee's.
She has lost blankets and she will stop peeing and be good for a while

actually she has been doing it for years. thought she was just telling us who is boss, she has been alpha since the beginning. She left the bedding alone and slept on it for four days then decided to urinate on it. Guess she care how good she had it. lol

One of my girls, Boo, was just about perfect in her potty training from the first day I brought her home. For seven years, I never had a problem with her peeing on the carpet, her bed, etc. Then I switched her to first one grain free food (Innova Evo) and then another (TOTW). She immediately started peeing in her bed during the night and just as immediately stopped when I took her off those foods. Thus, perhaps your girl's problem is food related. The grain free foods tend to have a very high percentage of protein. Two vets have told me that places stress on the kidneys and causes problems like urinating in the bed.
Good luck. And as you mentioned, perhaps it's instead a behavioral problem. I can't help you with that, but maybe Lynn can since she is a trainer.

You might want to check for a UTI
or Urinary Tract Infection. If she is potty trained and this is a relatively new behaviour, she may have an infection and she can't help but pee.
Are you feeding her a grain free dry dog food?
