My husband came back from the vet yesterday with a pocket full of medications.
Chester is back on Baytril for his skin infections (culture and scrapings results are not back yet but he is not healing on other meds so she put him back on Baytril as he was doing better on it).
He is also on muscle relaxants, anti-inflammatories and pain killers as X-rays showed collapsed disc on top spine (neck/back) and inflammation. He is supposed to be on it for a week and then back for a check in. If it does not improve, we will see a neurologist. He seemed a bit more better this morning, so maybe poor boy hurt himself somehow jumping or twisting his neck. Unfortunately we do not know his "prior life history"--he is a rescue boy, so he may have suffered some injuries in the past and now anytime it is aggravated, it may come back. This is just preliminary diagnosis, we will get to the bottom of it, but my heart breaks for my babies. I wish they could speak and tell us what is wrong so we could help them easier.
It has been difficult several weeks...between my surgery, Lily's collapsing and getting all diagnostic tests, put on medications, peeing a river 50 times a day, Chester getting sick, my flu...we have hospital central in my house, we're pretty much exhausted, LOL. Sleeping on twin mattress by the patio door so that Lily at night has access to outside and easy reach to water does not help, LOL. We are taking turns so that at least one of us is well rested. I am not yet 100% so all this is taking a toll on me and my husband but we are going to get through it, most important is to get them healthy as well.
Those bullies just make you crazy for them (worry sick, do things you would never imagine doing in your life...)....I keep telling Chester and Lily, my next dog is going to be a poodle, LOL.
I am posting pic of my babies so that you can put faces on those troublemakers...
