Update - Molly ... Also, ATT Helen (long)

Hi Helen, the hubby and I are thinking about taking off Wends and going to the vet you mentioned, could you give me the name and the address, I mapped Woodbury and its 1 hr away, which doesnt seem to bad.

When hubby and I got home tonight, we went to Mollys cage, let her out and realized theres another area that bled, the area that had originally bled, has dried up and was scabbed, I forgot to mention when we took her back to the vet on Friday evening, she looked at Mollys incision and pulled on it to see if the stitches actually opened, and said its still sealed...

Theres no orange around where the cut was, I dont know what infection would look like?? I really wish I had my digital camera, I could take a pic and post exactly what she looks like !! GRrr

She acts fine is getting back to normal with her peeing/pooing, and isnt wetting in the house as often, eats like a horse as usual and is ok, the only thing thats a concern is the incision and the odor... its kinda stinky.. dont know if thats normal...

The only thing thats difficult, is she is a puppy, SO shes used to doing her normal routine, you know going outside down 12 sets of stairs to potty, and coming back up, goin to our sofa and hopping up and down when shes ready, its hard to control a 40 lb pile of fur! haha , we have began keeping her in her cage more often because thats the only way to keep her still, but when we had her out of her cage, we didnt see the area that bleeds here and then like we are now.

The bleeding isnt bad, and doesnt happen often, but its there every once in a while.

The reason I asked about infection is because besides the ropy area where the stiches are together and the little bit of blood that dried up, she looks ok, but under the skin next to where the ropy area is is puffy, like theres liquid in there, but I dont know if thats just from the spaying. And we didnt notice it before, dont know if it was puffy from the spaying and now its going down and its noticiable or what.

I'll be on for a bit if you guys have ?s Thanks

Peroxcide? I'm goin to try that, lets see what happens :)

Vet

Gray Fox Animal Hospital is in Woodbury
207 Glassboro Road
Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097
856-848-7070
You want to see Dr. Lee Spector as there are 3 vets at this facility.
Sorry I wasn't on last night to see this but I went to bed early with a bad cold.

Are you in...

New York? just curious because we have a Woodbury here too. Hope she is feeling well soon..Good luck

Suggestion Molly,

Are you cleaning the incision area with peroxide? Any time I have a c-section (be the same as a spay), I clean it daily with peroxide, gently wipe the dirt/hair, etc away. Also, by doing this, if it really is fizzing up, that would be a good indication there is infection there. If it looks puffy and the skin is red, that is infection.

Also- If I take her to a different vet, what will I need with me
