Hello all,
Thank you for your good thougths and prayers. They seemed to have helped. Madison came out of surgery about 2:00 CST and was doing well. Breathing on her own and very groggy, but doing well. She is ICU thru tomorrow just to make sure no breathing problems develop. They have her in an oxygen cage right now. We are going to go see her in about an hour. I can't wait just to make sure with my own eyes she's fine! It sure is quiet around the house without her snorts and snoring while she sleeps! Oh, how I miss her! But the vet said that as long as we continue to do well thru the night, she can come home tomorrow.
The surgery ended up being a lot more extensive than anticipated. To fix the luxated patella the made the groove in the bone deeper, released the tendon on the opposite side a little, and they had to fracture her tibia (long bone below patella) and realign it and insert pins to keep it there. So, she probably won't be walking on her own for a few days...we'll be carrying the little princess. They ended up having her under for so long, they decided to put in staples instead of stitches, to save time and wake her up sooner. So, the recovery time will be a little longer, but the hard part is over! We woke up breathing on our own!!!!! No swelling in the throat or anything! So, we are definitely counting our blessings here!
Thanks for all your prayers and support. I will keep you updated on how she's doing once we see her and get her home. I'm going to have a tough time sleeping toinght without her snoring at my feet!!!
I am so glad to have found this board and cannot thank each and every one of you who has been there for us during all of this!
Have a great day and I'll update as soon as I know a little more! I'm fixing to leave in a little bit to go see the princess! Yeah!
Thanks again,
Kristen & Madison

Way to go Madison
I am glad things went well for her. I know what you mean about missing the snoring -- Daisy sleeps in our room and I just love to hear her snore -- now my husband, well I can't stand his snoring!! LOL!
Give her a big slobbery smooche from Daisy!

So glad she came through the surgery well...
Sounds like a tuff one....She'll probably have a long recovery. But worth it in the long run.
Norbert had CCL surgery and it is 7 months now, he was still limping at 5 months and I've been told it can be a yr before they are 100%. He gets better every month and is back to walking his 2+ miles.
Madison...way to go sweetie...
I'm so happy to hear your doing so well..your poor folks will be loony in all the snoreless silence...
hugs to your mug beauty and hurry home.....ce
Get well soon Madison
Glad the surgery went well and hopefully the recovery will go quick!!!

Glad Madison did so well
The hard part is over and hopfully she is on the down hill slide to recovery. The hardest thing is being without Madison for the night.
