Hello all,
First of all, thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome. I cannot believe what a wonderful bunch of people yall all are! We are soooo happy to have found yall!
Well, the surgeon said that Madison has a grade 2 luxating patella and we have scheduled her surgery for this Friday (as in a little over 24 hours away) morning. I'm stressing about it, but I know we have a great surgeon and she'll be in great hands. We are using the vet school at Texas A&M University if anyone is familiar with them. They even have their own anesthesiology team that will be taking care of her. So, I know she'll be in good hands...but as a mom, I'm still worried! Oh, one more thing. They said that they will keep her in ICU overnight just to make sure she has no problems!
She has never had problems with her leg before, so we were a little concerned about why all of a sudden she has a "luxating patella." The orthopedist said that there are some cases where they get them later in life, or she's had it and it just hasn't manifested itself until recently. So, that's the verdict there. She's resting comfortably for now. I am looking forward to the day when she's stopped limping and back to her same old self!
I just want to thank everyone again for all your kind words and support. Also, thanks again for welcoming us into your group. We are looking forward to getting to know everyone better!
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers on Friday please. I will let everyone know Friday afternoon/evening how it went.
Thanks again for everything! We're so happy to have found a place that loves bullies as much as we do!
Have a great night,
Kristen & Madison

Oh Kristen, I'm so sorry Madison needs surgery but
it sounds like you have found a great team of caring experts to perform the surgery.
I certainly will be sending you and her good vibes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!

Excellant Medical
I took one of my little guys there and actually the vet was from Ga and had a lot of knowledge of bullies She took care of the Ga Bulldog. So you should be in good hands.
You drive the same road I do
When I head for Houston. But I usually stop at the Mc Donald.s at the College Station water tower. That's my half way point. Beautiful drive. Maybe we will run into each other.

Another Texan bulldog
I am always so excited to hear from another Texas bulldog owner. And I will vouch for the A&M team. Those Aggies know how to take of their animals. She is in the best of care. Make sure you report the results. And would love to get together with you. I take the back road drive from my house to College Station. Always stop at the vegetable stand that is close to Hempstead. I just love the scenery of all the ranches that have the little minature horses.
Good luck with the surgery.
Hop Madison does well with it and it helps her knee.
Sorry
to hear but all will be fine and she'll do great. We will keep you in our thoughts.
Warmest thoughts and prayers for Madison
From what I've heard, that is a great vet school. I hope Madison has a very speedy and easy recovery.
Madison
Kristen,
Madison will be fine. Her leg has got to be causing her a lot of pain right now, she will feel so much better.

Yes, luckily we have great vets at A&M watching out for her. We are in College Station. So, at least we are close by for rehab and follow up visits.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Sending prayers!
I am glad you have a good bunch taking care of her. Where in Texas are you? I am in Conroe.
Sorry to hear she needs surgery
But I know you are an overprotective bully momma so she will be just fine!
Just give her extra rice cakes when she gets home for a treat!! I'll be thinking of you all on Friday!
