Twister & I were in our FIRST conformation show this past weekend (pics)
Submitted by flbulldogmom on April 21, 2010 - 12:33amWe showed at the very competitive "winter circuit" in Brooksville, Florida - guess you could say it was baptism by fire as it was both of our first time ever in the breed ring and this show circuit, which runs about 11 days, is known for professional handlers!
I think we held our own and I was extremely proud of my little man for showing at an outdoor show, in nasty weather, in a big scary tent, etc..
We placed 2nd each day (shhhh! don't tell anyone, but the first day only had 2 in the class - however the 2nd day, we earned our placement)! Here are some pics I thought I'd share...

Sunday was rough for both of us - I was stressed, weather was horrible, Twister was scared of the tent and wouldn't move in the ring, I forgot to present him to the judge on our down and back, etc., etc.

Monday I went early and walked him in and out of the grooming tent 10 or more times, until he was walking by my side with no worries...I was much more relaxed and confident in the ring that day too, since I knew what was expected and I think it all traveled down the leash because Twister was awesome too!! I was very proud of him - glad we ended on a high note! LOL
Twister had really good treats on Monday...
he was just being Twister! LOL

LOL!!
He kept jumping up to get the ribbon when we were trying to take a picture - so I just let him have it, then he was happy! LOL
