My niece is now a full fledged adult. She is the first on her daddies side of the family to graduate and they said her name wrong. Her name is Katherine Shae Wheeler and they announced Katherine Shae Walker. We got over that and was happy for her. When it was over and I finally found her she was just crying real hard. Her mother was already with her. I went up to her and she just hugged me. I ask her if it was because they pronounced her name wrong and while her head is buried in my shoulder she shakes her head NO. I ask her is it because its all over and she shook her head yes. I told her welcome to adulthood.
WIth all she has been through sometimes she is way to old and other times she still 12. I told her she needed to find a meduim balance and enjoy herself.
It is 8:53 and my grandmother is still asleep and she never sleeps this late. I am afraid to go in a check on her. I will let you know how that comes out. Hopefully everything is ok because if it is not my son will never sleep in his bed again.
I read Shae everything each and everyone of you said and she just smiled from ear to ear. I think she is one happy camper. Oh my god I have another adult women in the house.........For her graduation present from me she will be getting her first tatoo. That is what she wanted. She will get it at 6:00 tonight....

Re: Kids can be cruel can be an understatement
Home schooling is awesome...I home school both of my kids (and my bullie)
. They have never been to "regular" school. Good for you, I am sorry for the circumstances for which you are switching, but I think you are doing a fantastic thing. Good luck!

If its on the lower back I can see her doing the wiggle butt now....
Rebecca

Sue

We got out of there at about 10. I had my grandmother with me. She is still breathing I did finally go in there and check.
Its either going to be a tribal scene across her lower back or a black cat with a red bow because they call her Kat at work...
My grandmother is still asleep she has never slept this late.....

Kids can be cruel can be an understatement
I have a son that is over weight and in special ed because of his ADHD. He is 12 and still is not at his reading level. I am homeschooling next year because of the cruelty of children and this past year the cruelty of some teachers.
I am glad you stayed and I am glad they fibbed I agree Yeh for them.....
thanks again..
Rebecca
I have to go and watch
I have to watch her get it done for one because she is getting one before me and second if I am paying I want some kind of enjoyment from it....haha
Rebecca
she is unsure
She wants either the tribal drawing on the lower back or a picture of a black kat with a red bow. They call her Kat at work....
Rebecca
Wishing her the best
and what tatoo is she going to get, I was chicken but always wanted a butterfly.
My neice also graduated last night, was a lovely ceremony but long, guess I got home around 1 am.
That's really great ....
Your niece did a fine job! Congratulations to her and her role models!
The difficulties of adolescence can be alot to bear. The transition during my teenage years were extra tough. I was not one of the "pretty ones" and kids can be quite cruel. I went to the school office in my sophomore year and told them I wanted to quit school. Luckily, they somehow convinced me that quitting school required some kind of legal process ... and it didn't really occur to me to quit showing up. By time I entered my senior year, the physical awkwardness had leveled out and I could begin to relax enough to make new friends and enjoy school. I really can't imagine how my life would have turned out had the administrators simply permitted me to "quit". Hooray for them! (even though I realized later that they had done some serious fibbing!)
Happy for her (and you)
I am glad everything went well (except her last name). I am sure she will settle into her new world nicely.
Hope she enjoys her "Grad" present! Tell her it only hurts for a little while.
Sue
best wishes
Really sounds like she knows that she is on the right track now. That is a great lesson to learn.....
What kind of tattoo? I had to ask!
