I adore bulldogs. For those who asked about AJ, he now lives with a wonderful lady and her mom in Auburn, Alabama. Many of you will remember that my grandson was born 4 months premature last year on March 14 (he now weighs almost 14 pounds!). I was then shipped out of state to Minnesota for May and June to work a trial. Jackie is a friend of my oldest daughter, an RN. My daughter met Jackie caring for Jackie's husband in long-term critical care. His stay was four months, and he didn't make it. So as not to make this post too long, Jackie always wanted a bulldog. Life without me here to support my child with her baby still in NICU, a son still in high school, and to help care of the dogs became too much for the hub to handle on his own. I have a wonderful friend on BDW that volunteered to care for AJ, but she too has a dominant male. Asking her to watch him for that long was just too much to ask. AJ is now happily living with his new owner, who adores him as he does her. He plays with the neighbor's kids, is an only dog, and spoiled rotten. Should Jackie ever not be able to care for him, AJ comes home to me.
As for me, I know that God will never put more on me than I can handle. I miss our son; cried for him this morning, but I rock out to his Christian music every day on my commute to and from work. If you've never heard "Eagles" by Third Day, check it out! It's my song for 2010.

Hi Sandra:-)
It sounds like AJ is very happy where he is....I am glad you were able to work that situation out.
As a mother who lost a son to a car/bicycle accident 12 years ago, I empathize with you. Believe me, the pain never goes away completely, but God covers you with His wings and there you will abide for your lifetime if you chose. I trust fully that He had a reason for our son being killed. Though I may never understand, I believe God is taking care of me in His own way, and I am thankful for His mercy and grace in my life that compels me forward to serve Him and love Him completely. Psalm 62:7,8 says: In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
I love you Sister:-)

Wishing you the very best...............
always enjoyed seeing AJ & Cooper.
I must have missed your post
But I certainly know your boys. Sounds like you made a tough decision but a good one. AJ is a dream come true for this girl - and you can't ask for any better than that.
Best of luck with everything - and don't forget to drop by and visit now and then.
