Telling the Cody story.......

Hey everyone. I am working on having someone, either a news station or something like that, tell the story of Cody. I will be working on this more and more, expecially after he gets home. I think this is wonderful story and could also clue some people into the fact that puppymills are everywhere, not just three states out of fifty. Any comments or suggestions please let me know!

yes ..in fact they and the USDA

were two of the many places I called before we went to get MoJo..as part of my homewrok persay...neither had reports on him at the the time..they both do now....ce

I have a question?

are you coming in on 35?

no sorries neccessary....smile

that sounds like a great idea....
if it that brings attention to and helps any heartbeat it is always a good idea when approached in a way that helps educate the masses..smile
.....I think I might be more prone to lean on the rescues and what they actually do...and have the puppymills as part of the story in back of 'some' needy rescues...
In my opinion....stories that sensationlize are shocking and in your face..but soon forgotten by the next headliner....however eduction, informtion, and the issues...give folks real ways to help...
And no not ready preparing wise...we still need a place to meet by the way...smile...but I am more then ready to give da MoJo's dad Lil Cody Cosmo a big mug hug...the rest I will have ready by saturday..and out of here by 6am..so I can be in Des moines by noon..and to you about three hours later...ce

have you contacted the iowa dept. of agriculture?

we contacted the illinois version for our "breeder" they had a complaint list a mile long. they might be able to help too.

and don't have to mention the breeder at all, just ALL ABOUT COD

.

We will all be taking pictures!

And I will have them posted on the board as soon as I can get to my computer!! Dont' worry, you will all being tons of Cody very soon!! I am a picture taking freak!!!

Love this idea... can you

take pics of the "Cody journey" from where he is now, how he looks, then as time passes of his progress, etc... I know that images can speak louder than words sometimes and touch people at a deeper level... do you think a local tv station would be interested in the story?

Let me know if I can help.

Very good point and I agree

Did you read the post down below about the story in Penn? I thought it was okay, but I would like to see something like that in our area, because most people around here dont' realize what is going on. Maybe I will suggest to the people I know at the TV station, that they just do a general story on puppymills and do their own investigating. I will leave everything that I know out of it, but explain to them that this is a huge issue and problem and would make a great story. Then they could include stuff about rescue organizations in it. I think that route is better! You are sooo smart ce! I am sorry about the reporting thing, I didn't realize that so much had been tried already. I am sorry if I brought up any bad feelings. Are you all ready for Saturday??

Kristae...Great Idea of a heartwarming story and the group...

effort to get Cody....just be carefull not to do any thing that would put you in jeopardy of lawsuits etc.
Especially with this guy...we know first hand how money hungry he is...no ethics at all.

oh yeah they have been contacted,so has the

BCA, the AKC,the humane society and the USDA....who licenses him...
..the thing you need to understand is that, and this is hard to take,it really grits my backside...but in areas all over the different states ...in Rural areas... if a complaint is filed...and someone goes out to investigate...if there is food, water, and any form of shelter..it's okay... case closed....this is sadly pretty common...all of the above places that inspect are understaffed ..and over loaded with complaints...without Registration violations, proof of frauds, and extreme cruelty..its just a warning and clean up your act....too many puppies in barns and wooden boxes ...is not against the law, dirty dogs are not either...when his dogs are seen to need vet care he is covered..he has them being treated..etc..it's a slippery slope..you have to get him doing something and this is unfortunate..but the way it is...breaking the law in the business end..he doesn't beat his dogs..they have food..and using a dog for profit only is disgusting but not illegal...like I said....his is not the only breeding for profit out there..and it's hard to get these folks...as far as pictures...we can take pictures of Cody..but the way it usually works is Cody will most likey not even be picked up at the guys farm..he will be at the sisters very beautiful clean home...we only got to see the farm because I was so insistant of seeing MoJo's folks..or no money exchange..but Cody being an adult rules that out...
...just be careful that's all..I think a story on rescues and the wonderful folks who give them homes is awesome .I think to single out this guy ...or only concentrate on Cody is, one lighting fires we can stop at this time...burning whatever bridges we have built..and not as helpful as a story on rescues might be to help others who need homes too..it could be wonderful to get a story like that told....ce

Nevermind....... n/m

Re: What is the Cody story?

The Cody is story is how everyone on this website chipped either money or support to get him out of a terrible situation with a breeder who was trying to sell him. He now has a family that consists of this entire board!

What is the Cody story?

What is the Cody story anyway?

Good idea....What about this?

Ce, I was going to try and contact the people in Iowa and try to get him investigated. Has this already been done? I guess that I am not sure what steps others have already taken against this guy. Could you give me some direction?

be careful.....

it's okay to tell his story but without this breeder being fined, shut down..and in any way stopped..because no one who he has already been reported to, can get enough on him....and big guns have tried and still are....
...your opening a can of worms if you name him...
and also may set him off and take away any chance these people have of ever getting enough goods on him..because he will book to another location ..different names etc..and we will never get him....
so please be careful....tell the rescue if you wish..and even about the people who love bullies..and make it about rescues all over that help everyday with giving homes and love to the needy ,Cody being just one of so many....and it might inspire more to seek out rescues..and help...but please be carefull about making this a only personal story of Cody...and his details of names....and web sites...ce

Great idea

Does someone have a video camera to film the rescue caravan?
