Rescues hold a very special bond. I have a rescued pug here and the changes are soo dramatic in him and such..he will always be very close to my heart. I rescued him at 6 months old..so hopefully I have him for a long time.

can certainly feel your sad feelings for loosing a dog that was very close to you
many of us have had dogs that crossed the bridge..and all of them will be fondly remembered.
will continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts..through this time..

memories can never be erased and would love to hear some of her story.
being new was not here when she was rescued..

but have gotten to know her since being here.

Blakely's rescue was definitely one of the all-time highlights of the board.

just not quite ready to do that quite yet.

We miss her terribly, but we are at peace with the decision that we had to make and that helps a lot.

What breaks my heart is when Brutus goes around the house looking for her.
They were big buddies

Her story changed a lot of people's lives. And you changed her life so much for the better. Hope you guys are OK...

She was just such a sweet spirited girl... I can't imagine how or WHY those people would have treated her like they did.

I am the lucky one to have had nearly 3 years to love that sweet baby. I only wish it had been longer....

You (and Shannan) were the answer to Blakely's prayers. You provided her with love, a family, medical care, good nutrition and a safe place to lay her head. I will never forget how she was when you got her and how she flourished under your care.

She certainly touched everyone on this board at the time. I've never experienced more "cyber" love for an animal in need. BDWer are the best.

Our family will certainly never be the same.

It amazes me how much we love each other's pups here... and it's so comforting to know that I am not alone in grieving for my girl.

I remember her story, it broke my heart, and then she found you, and my heart was happy because I knew how loved she would be, And now my heart is broken at the loss of Blakely,

one that always touched my heart as well and I remember her pictures when you first got her and how she changed with the love and kindness she received from you and your family. I know your pain and I know the sadness you are feeling and my thoughts are with you.

It was so unexpected..... we just were NOT ready. I guess no one really ever is..

I just found out. She was so, so very lucky to have found you to be her mommy for the time she had left. I am so sure the time with you was the best time of her life! My thoughts are with you. Big hugs from all of us!!
