The breeder started Maggie on Science Diet puppy food and we kept her on it until she was about 6 months. We saw a commercial for the Science Diet All Natural Puppy food (can't remember the exact name) and decide to just try it mixed in..Maggie liked it a lot better, so we gradually switched her over to it entirely. We noticed dramatic improvements in her skin and coat within less than a month- her coat became a lot shinier and she doesn't get skin irritations anymore. In addition, her tear stains aren't too bad (they used to be awful) and her ears stay pretty clean (used to have to clean every other day - now just once a week at most). She is a solid 45 lbs and the vet is very happy with her weight. She hasn't been gaining a lot of weight or anything (we feed her 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup at night) and tons of treats and snacks in between b/c we're suckers.
But now she just turned a year old this month and I'm wondering if I should switch her to adult food? She's doing sooo well, I don't want to screw anything up, but I'm worried that there may be harm later down the road in continuing on the puppy food?

I dont think it would hurt to continue giving her the puppy food as long as she is not getting to "fat." If not, look for a human grade food, the less ingredients the better, like just duck/potato.
