I had posted this on another forum and had so many friends say I needed to share this with my "bulldog group" I finally broke down and said ok....most non bulldog performance friends were very impressed with the strength of Twisters hindquarters/hips in order for him to stand this way. Personally, I think that speaks volumes for his breeding!!
The "treats" I made are essentially known in the conformation world as "fat balls" its sole purpose is to put weight on and/or help to maintain a bulldog's weight while showing and since Twister lives up to his name and is one extremely active boy, it was suggested I supplement his meals with these as needed.
Twister of course was totally thrilled and was "air scenting" the whole time I was mixing them up....(raw hamburger, cream cheese, honey, peanut butter & frosted flakes) gee, what's not to love! LOL
licking the spatula (yes he licked the mixing bowl too) LOL
even big sister Dixie got in on the action
must have been really good! not a drop was left when he was finished with dinner
ground turkey..
awesome idea...
sounds good
might try that instead for Bella..she loves turkey as does Gus..
will see what I can find shopping to add to them..
thanks for the idea
...and for those who are concerned you could always use ground t
my purpose for feeding these were to increase & maintain weight - so it wouldn't make much sense to use lean ground beef for something like that! LOL

Dee - you may do which ever you'd like....
there is not wrong way - but raw offers more benefits to the dog than cooked
![[linked image]](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/jenwolfgang/glitteryourwaya3ea3f05.gif)
Thanks for the heads up - but so far so good with Twister
but he's eaten raw before too...I don't give him large quantities in one sitting - just one ball at breakfast & one at dinner with his regular food
![[linked image]](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/jenwolfgang/glitteryourwaya3ea3f05.gif)
I feed it thawed in his kibble...but freeze it until I'm ready t
then I unthaw - glad you liked the idea

Obviously I feed raw, but everyone just be careful with the fat
You said "cheap hamburger" in your recipe and I just want to remind everyone that that means VERY fatty. And that does a tune on their tummies, ESPECIALLY if they're not used to meat.

been looking for something to put some weight back on Bella.....
we runs in the zoomies outside 3 times a day..and barrells around the house too after the pugs..she is very very active..
she lost about 6 pounds this past year and sits about 42 pounds..but likely lost a bit again.
I am having issues to keep her weight on.....
so this treat might just work to help her with that...
and can see her liking it with hamburger..
do you feed them frozen??? or thaw them out...?
she is not a big eater..eat what she wants and walks away...
and just a case of more calories burnt that what she is getting..
just do not want her to loose anymore..
or Gus either for that matter..
he is about 52 pounds..
never hesitation food+bullies+mommies
when are we never trying to find something to spoil our kids with....and with bullies their over joyed with food....wilson may pretend to stick is nose up at things....but its all show....he needs me to give a little loving....
i am making them tonight.......i cant wait.....
can i cook this a bit instead of being completely raw? n/m
your very welcome - I hestiated to post, but glad I did!

these will be great for Gus and Bella both....
both of my bullies are pretty slight and with Bella dropping weight out playing outside all the time..looking for a more solid treat..that might work really really well and bet she will love them.
will give them a try
thanks for posting..
that's the fun part - just be creative...
you could just leave the cereal out - I don't think it would change them much - the frosted cereal just adds extra calories! LOL

How cute and great catch! I've never caught Onslow on film doing it but he knows he's not allowed any paws on the table so this is what he does to see up there. haha
A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.
I did whatever was the cheapest....
again, original purpose was not so much as a treat as it was to put weight on a dog....so it doesn't matter - you could change it up as you see fit for whatever your using it for - I've seen some who have baked them too - I like the benefits of feeding raw - you don't loose any nutrients in the ingredients
![[linked image]](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/jenwolfgang/glitteryourwaya3ea3f05.gif)
I used Walmart brand honey & the peanut butter was no sugar added, all natural - but that's because it's what I already had on hand - you could also use regular rice cripies instead of frosted to cut down on the sugar...I think brown rice would not give them the cruchy that the cereal does
a couple of questions.....
the peanut butter reg or do you use all natural no additives....or do you think it would matter if i just used all natural????
![[linked image]](http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1262199252.JPG)
also the honey is that all natural or a store brand....would it matter if i used all natural honey?
have you ever used brown rice instead of rice krispies????
with all the sugar my boys will be walking on the ceiling.....
sorry so many questions...i cant wait to try this out....my boys have a sweet tooth (becasue of me) and this seems great.... how many balls to give them at a time.....
charlie and wilson.....
lol.. I posted it above .. much shorter without the humor.. hhmm

LOL!! thanks Tammy!!
your recipe is easier to understand than mine!
![[linked image]](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/jenwolfgang/glitteryourwaya3ea3f05.gif)
yep, "our boy" is that intense with everything he does, as you could see from his playing video I sent! LOL
Recipe
cheapest ground beef you can buy (I used the ground beef in the roll from Walmart - I also have a local butcher shop who saves me the beef "saw dust" from their cuttings for free, it's the consistancy of ground beef) so I used 1 3/4 lb of saw dust & 1 lb of ground beef.
![[linked image]](http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n256/jenwolfgang/glitteryourwaya3ea3f05.gif)
I used one brick of cream cheese
squeezed honey in the bowl until my hand hurt (how's that for measurement)??LOL
dropped in several huge spoonfulls of peanut butter
then poured in the frosted flakes (you can also use frosted rice crispies)
I mixed it some with my hand and then some with a wooden spoon - there is no science to it and you cannot mix it wrong - just mix up how you think it should feel/look
you feed them raw - so I left enough in my fridge to last until Sunday (2 a day - 1 at breakfast & 1 at dinner)
then I froze the rest in freezer bags that would last me a week at a time - when Sunday rolls around, I'll take out a bag and that will take me through the next week. If your making them as a treat, I'd make them much smaller than what I did.
hope that makes sense...if you do a search on the "show forum" side, you'll find other versions of this recipe too - I like this one and it was easy enough to get ingredients & mix up
I so love this boy.. he amazes me with his intesity.. recipe..
I make a huge batch when I make them and then freeze..
[/IMG]
5 pounds cheap hamburger
2 blocks cream cheese
1- 1 1/2 cup honey
1 jar of peanut butter
I use frosted rice krispies.. you may add what you need to make a ball consistency
I have also added egg and fish oil
[IMG]
YES P L E A S E
can you write the recipe down.....
i would love to have those as a sweet treat for my boys.....can you write how you make them
thanks
