That's what we call the Ollie dog! His face has the most sour smelling face! It's quiet literally stinking up the whole house. We had previously had him on a series of Tetracycline treatment which was very effective at reducing the staining, but not the smell. Our nightly regime involves Baby wipes and desitin with Gentamycin if he has any hot spots. Tri-otic ointment if his ears are red, and still the boy STINKS!
I have read about Dermapet's Mal-Acetic wipes and shampoo's which are suppose to counter act the Yeast (most likely the stink culprit. Has anyone any experience with products?
Word of caution...
Often dogs experience loose stools or diahrea when first introduced to this food. Do the transition over a period of a minimum of two weeks. Also, do not overfeed. That may also contribute to the change in stool. It is a very rich food so they do not need a lot. Use the feeding directions on the bag. I find them fairly accurate.
Diesel is the only dog in the house on this food and I have noticed the other dogs have twice the bowel movements per day comparative to Diesel. This food has my stamp of approval.
that's a good one
Alot of folks here report wonderful things about the fish/potato formula.

Spike is on a Rx duck/potato limited ingredients food. He didn't do well on the Wellness, or I would have kept him on it.
California Natural is another food that has limited ingredients for allergy prone dogs.
Try the fish and see how he does,
Diet?
We are in the process of switching Ollie to the Fish and Sweet Potato diet for general allergies. Are you aware of a food that helps with the yeast? If so please pass along the good news!
we're having this problem now too
I feel for ya. It's pretty nasty when it's that bad. You could try Epi-Otic to clean, vinegar/water/peroxide solution to clean 1/3 of each, anti fungals (miconozale nitrate 2%)
Spike is currently on phase one of his new Tx. Once he's adjusted to the new treatment, the Vet spoke of starting him on a systemic anti fungal (I can't remember the name, but a Rx pill)
And of coarse getting to the source of the problem, which is what we are working on too, starting with diet.
Good luck, hope it gets better.
