My husband loves "feel good" Christmas movies and I, Of course, will watch almost any movie that has animals--although I don't usually like "talking" dogs. So anyway last night he checked out The Dog That Saved Christmas. The "star" was a yellow lab. However at the beginning of the movie there was a pound scene. In the pound with the star was a Bulldog. I am still shocked!! This poor Bulldog must really have been in a pound--his nose was unbelieveable brown, crusty--gross. Toenails were practically curling. Body over all too thin. The rest of the dogs didn't look as bad but there was a pug that looked kind of old (very grey muzzle) and a poodle in need of grooming. I just can't believe that this dog was shown in this condition in a movie.

i saw that movie.....
and i was also pretty shocked at the look of that bulldog...so were a couple of other people who saw it....i did not catch the credits from where this dog was from....but it was in ruff shape....hoping it was only for the movie.....
Maybe
your reaction was what the director wanted to achieve - shock. And maybe to prod people into adopting from a shelter or volunteering to help at a shelter?
