Shake, Rattle and Roll (OT)

We had THREE earthquakes last night in Northern CA!! First one was 4.3, second one 2.1 and last one 2.6!
Let me tell ya, that will get you up and out of bed quick!!

That would scare me to death

hope everyone is fine and no damage to your home.

About 2 years ago we had a 6.8 quake...

...near Seattle and it was enough for me for the rest of my life.. Scary stuff!! Everything shook like crazy. I was in the carving shop and everything shook!! We got under work benches and rode it out. We had just bought a new house and had gotten earthquake insurance only 48 hours before it struck!!

OMG ..... They are so scary!

Glad it wasn't "The Big One" and everything is all well.
We had an earthquake 6. something in Seattle right after I moved here about 2 yrs ago. Let me tell you I was on the 34th floor of our 41 floor bldg downtown and boy was I sweating. It was the scariest thing, it swayed back and forth and I just knew it was going to fall over. Our other bldg, The Bank of America tower is like 78 floors and they say it can sway 6 ft in both directions for a total of 12 ft I never want to be in that one during an earthquake. Some poor sole was actually interviewing on the 70th floor when the quake happened, bet they didn't take the job We just keep waiting for the "Big One"

Numerous

Quakes are very common, after the first one, the following ones are "after shocks" which sometimes can be even bigger! Dont know if it affected the bullies it hit and midnight and they were in their crates.
Its a very strange feeling the have the Earth shake under you for sure!

3 ??

Wow, is that common or not, to have 3 in one night? I hope there was no damage to your home.

Just wondering if the dogs can sense something before the ground starts shaking. I've been in a hurricane and driven right in front of a tornado, beating it out by a matter of minutes, but have never been where there was an earthquake. Pretty scary I bet.

Yee-hah!

Earthquakes are an intriguing thing to experience ... more so for those who don't live in metropolitan areas!

Hope there's not too much damage.

Quake

This one was about 10 miles from where I live. We had no damage at all, and everything stayed up. But believe me, it will also get you up too!!!

Shelly,

Over all the years of being in Calif. for shows, I've never got to "feel" one. Many times there had been a major one the day before that all would talk about, or right after.

However, a couple years ago when there was a strong one in the desert between L.A. and LV, we felt it here in LV. During the night, I woke up, felt like someone was shaking my bed trying to wake me up. John woke up too, and said, "that's an earthquake"...Our hanging lamp was swinging. Then it was over. Not being near the center of it....it was pretty cool. But I sure wouldn't want to be where it really shook.
