under the jurisdiction of the BCA. Karin is actually the one that belongs to the BCA. I was up until this past December. That's when she jumped on. Not renewing my membership was done to save money but it turned out to be a nightmare for me. The rumor mills were on a roll......
I have an aplication being made to the BCA for membership right now. My sponsor is a long time bulldogger that knows how it can go.
I stand on my record as it is. Even the largest sellers on E-Bay have negative feedback. This is America where we eat our own... I don't believe that but see it everyday.
Thgere have been non memebrs advertise dog wares but other then that, I'd be suprised. I'm e-mailing Ray myself. Anyway, that would be trivial of a mistake if that's the case. I know you have to be a member to get one mailed to you.

You're correct that many families do opt to have only one family member join, so I guess I wasn't thinking that Karin may also be a BCA member. Glad to hear that you are planning to re-apply.
We have two of us in this family that show and breed our dogs. Myself and my wife Karin. I call us "we" when I talk about our efforts. We both do sweepstakes judging assignments in preperation to become AKC judges. Another year and we'll have all our requirements completed. We have twelve champions of record and we have our judging assignments almost completed. From 1993 to 2000, I was the only one listed as a BCA member. We don't vote on BCA matters so my wife wasn't a member and we saved $25 a year. There was no need for an extra Bulldogger. Later on in 2000, we became friends with Hans Baker, of The Netherlands. He would send me his club magazine and my wife Karin joined the BCA to get that extra copie for Hans. All along, my wife and I have always been looked at as members. Some familes do elect to both join but that is not the norm with the BCA.
When the heat was turned up on me through these problems we had with AKC, I decided to drop my actual membership this year and allow my wife to be the anchor member for this family. Lots of people have said I was thrown out. NO WAY, one has to be put through a process before that can happen. I put an end to this silliness by bowing out for a while.
If one reads the Bulldogger this issue, they talk extensively about how they qwent about investigating their three so called problem members. They mostly realize how flawed their present system is and that changes must happen. There's no news about me or anybody getting thrown out. That's all rumor....
As a matter of fact, I've decide to rejoin to put an end to this speculation.
So, we did advertise in the Bulldogger, as we always do. Karin and I have future judging assignments and I'm in charge of the chili cookoff this coming Saturday at the Pacific Coast Bulldog Club's puppy match. Karin and I are both members of the P.C.B.C. and have been since 1993. They are a club under the jurisdiction of the BCA. Yes we are members, no tricks as imagined by some.
We also mentor three couples on breeding/showing dogs. One is SoHo Bulldogs. They have their first champ under their nelts and are continplating another soon.

You're right, Patti... one does not need to be a member of BCA to place an ad. However, we all know that one does need to be a member of BCA to receive The Bulldogger. If what I hear is true, that Marcel did not renew his membership this year, then he is paying for an ad that he will not receive a copy of... unless they send complimentary copies to those who advertise?
So, as far as having an ad in the Bulldogger, I don't believe one must be a member of BCA to pay the $500 for the back cover ad, just have the money and get the ad in.
No where in the information for advertising in the Bulldogger does it say one must be a member to advertise. The only thing is for front or back covers it is "first come-first serve".
We, my wife and I are members of PCBC, a club...
under the jurisdiction of the BCA.

Only Ray Knudson would know for sure.

No, you have to ba a member to advertise.........
Excluding the companies that advertise goodies for dogs, one must be a member to advertise.
It's $300 for the back cover.
Marcel
I understand

Let me explain
We have two of us in this family that show and breed our dogs. Myself and my wife Karin. I call us "we" when I talk about our efforts. We both do sweepstakes judging assignments in preperation to become AKC judges. Another year and we'll have all our requirements completed.

Marcel, read Melanie's post
As she said, you did not renew your BCA dues.
So, as far as having an ad in the Bulldogger, I don't believe one must be a member of BCA to pay the $500 for the back cover ad, just have the money and get the ad in.
I think you are mistaken Marcel
No where in the information for advertising in the Bulldogger does it say one must be a member to advertise. The only thing is for front or back covers it is "first come-first serve".
When I say we..............
I'm talking about myself and my wife as partners in this bulldog adventure, when I say, "we".
"WE" have the back page of the Bulldogger this month.
One would have to be a BCA member to know that.
I see no one by the name of "anonymus" on the BCA membership rolls.
Marcel
Maybe you aren't the only anonymous
right?
May-be you aren't the only Marcel.......
..
Wow, I didn't realize that.
Guess my adversaries have been busier than I thought.
