the posts. There are people who have been friends here for years, and I try not to take it to heart when my comments go unnoticed. They really don't know me as well as others on the board. It's a lot like kindergarten sometimes But I love it here! And I know I'll have real support when I need a shoulder to cry on when my babies are sick. Nowhere else can I go where I have people who truly love their dogs and know it is like having a family member sick when you bully is sick. I feel sorry for people who do not know that kind of love.

I think it is what most newbies go through at some point! I swore I would never come back, but a few days later i was still lurking and decided to just step up and start interacting with everyone. I have never regretted staying!

I'm glad you're back!

I don't come on the board nearly as much as I used to when I first started posting 4 years ago (too many things to do, and if I come here too often, nothing gets done...hehe!), but was really surprised by what took place the other day, and I'm sorry that had to happen to you.

I really hate confrontation, so I tend to stay out of matters that get "heated" on this board. Over the years, I've seen times when things get a bit out of hand, but everyone seems to get over it, and life goes on. I guess it's just human nature. Soooo, I'm glad that you have opted to come back, because, like you said, it REALLY should be all about the bulldog...after all, that's how all of us found this site in the first place.

And, BTW, I was one of those that was completely befuddled on how to post pics when I first got here; there wasn't a photobucket option at the time and it was quite a complicated process to upload pics through the network...but many people were helpful and patient (esp. Gary) and helped me struggle through it.

So, welcome back!

we gain soo much from the love of a bulldog.
a couple of years ago...Bella was very very young. we lost our power for 7 days almost. no heat and such and in the dead of winter. it was terrible here. Bella the ONE and only time in her life decided that she was a lapdog..lol. she jumped up and gave me a 100 bully kisses. what does that show you..??? it shows they really do care and really do feel. I felt soo much better having Bella around at the time...and even my lap was a bit warmer. she is very intune to everything. I have never met such a almost human type of breed.

In your video..I watched all your georgous bulldogs. but at the same time..I see them really watching you too. that is cool. pretty impressive to see the see. great videos and truly a very moving experience.

to me it is just someone that has posted more and longer then a newbie.
to me there is not any real difference.
when I moderated the boston site...I was the old timer. yes we went through all the simple threads everytime someone new joined. but really at one time or another everyone is a newtimer..even the old timers. the new timers posted more..and so on.

as far as being accepted into a board..
I hope that kind of attitude can change.
the old timers as they are called
bring a wealth of info with them as well..they have seen more as well...and likely read lots more too..
if they choose to not participate in a thread..then don't simple as that..
if you feel that your thread is moving to far down..repost it ..that is simple too
these kind of things show up on all boards..

we are all sharing a small space in the cyberworld...very very small. lets to try to enjoy it.

and personally posting a pic on here is not that easy. anytime that see someone that can not post a pic..I just tell them in response how to do it and it simple. I wish that someone had shown me how to post a pic ...truly was a learning experience. I can not count the number of people that I have responded to about posting pics on here.

when a board is no longer fun to read, you walk on eggshells and so on. really makes you shake your head and give it some thought.
I joined the board for my bulldogs. that is the bottom line. I do not do facebook, I am not on msn or yahoo either. I keep my private life pretty personal. the only time I did not do that was with my son.
that is not me. I post on this board and read email and that is enough.

if it seems that I post alot is because my bulldogs take up 90 percent of my waking thoughts..lol. I am always on alert with Gus being deaf. I love to watch my bulldogs and study them and mostly laugh at them..they are truly clowns. some people that post to a simple thread might actually not know that a bulldog does what is common in all bulldogs. I notice that lots in threads...oh my goodness Bella and Gus could have wrote that thread...they are soo much the same.

families show people pics, share stories and all the fun things. share heart ache as well and support when needed.

MY FOCUS in on my bullies and all the other bullies on BDW.

mostly lurk myself for my own reasons. I am thankful for this site though because I enjoy the pictures and information. I take from here what I find useful and skip the drama!

to hear anyone say that...wow i am blown away....i have e mails...becasue the byb breeders dont like me questioning their breeding programs and what their responsible for ect....and why some in their contracts say to turn their dogs over to rescue...
but to be poked fun of,,,,wow....i cant tell you how that makes me feel....
but stay posting....i have learned the best revenge is to ingore them and have fun with those who will have fun with you.....

I understand why you feel that way. It seems to be a common reaction for some newbies to the board. I'm not as active on the board anymore for various reasons too. Not that anyone cares and I know it makes some people smile with sadistic glee. It's just that I've seen a lot of people pushed away by a snarky elitism, and at times outright hostility. I've been the recipient of some uncalled for hostility here (you know who you are), and I've been taken to the carpet (anonymously) for things that some consider "inappropriate". Just the way it is, I guess.

speaking from my own experience...I had never seen anything like this place in my life before...I WAS ECCSTATIC! so much fun and so many neat people. There were two very rude people that almost made me stop posting...made fun of me because I didn't know how to post a picture. They E-mailed me privately and were quite brusk and rude (I was very offended and almost cried)...everyone else came forward on the board and I felt better, instantly.

I have had more fun, laughter and tears on this site! Welcome home, Pat.

I don't want to upset anyone with posting something wrong,so I stick to reading. I don't find the search section so easy to use as others say, it will bring up a whole whack of stuff that I need to sift through, so I call my vet for everything. I use to feel very comfortable here and welcome, and although nothing was ever outright said to me, I feel very different on here now,but I felt the need to post on this topic. I went back a few pages to read what had happened and I can't believe what I read. I had alot of fun on here for the last 2 1/2 years, but I feel the attitudes on here have changed. I read that the forum was being taken over by Pat, but I have to say I feel otherwise. I feel newcomers and people that are not as well known are not as accepted here anymore. It use to be fun,informative and friendly here, I don't find that anymore.

You were one of the first people to welcome me to the board, and you always respond to my threads and questions.
I really appreciate your presence here, your welcoming attitude helped me feel like I could join in the fun from day one instead of being scared to post, like I have experienced on many other boards.
