From my work in grooming - I was warned that they can really cause some serious brush burn. It isn't something that I would recommend someone use for habitual bulldog grooming. After all, look at those metal teeth?!

I have one that has like a razor-like imbedded in it, that you learn to do it at a certain angle. I've had it for years, and probably is more of a terrier thing.
I also have something that I think is more for horses, that has little teeth, one side real small, the other a little bigger. On that one, if you use the big one too much and hard, it can irritate the skin.
I've collected so many different kind of "tools" over the years. May-be I shouldn't have posted what I did, because it just confuses the matter, and probably what I've seen isn't what everyone normally would use or have.

I had just been rubbing it over Daisy, but didn't know there was a technique to it. She doesn't seem bothered by it, should I be doing something differently. I do get quite a bit of hair off her when I use it. Shot... I guess I am a bad momma....

Winston hated being brushed when I used the metal brushes on him-we used to have to argue a bit when it came time for brushing so I figured it was worth a try-and now he will just sit there and let me brush and brush =)
We like it =) Plus when it gets dirty I just throw it in the top rack of the dishwasher =)
It is a knack to use one, it is best if someone who knows shows you. You can also hurt the skin and damage the coat if not used properly...But, if you do know how, it really does get out the dead hair.

Zoom Groom is a brand name for a hard rubber curry brush. They are a great tool for short haired animals.
A shedding blade will take off more hair and is a little more aggressive. A curry brush is more of a massage for the animal and can be used more frequently.
You're welcome, Jane!
Pepper & Grady highly recommend the Zoom Groom to every bulldog owner!
No, you are right, Patti!

I use my zoom groom...
on Elsa when I give her a bath, too. Since it's rubber, it helps with the scrubbing/brushing/removing hair! I love the zoom groom!

I have a Zoom and groom and love it
