Re : Lindsay and the person who emailed her

Soapbox warning....

To the individual who emailed Lindsay :

First of all - we live in the "land of the free and the home of the brave." Lindsay has every right to charge what she needs to and she is well worth that. IF you don't think so - keep your mouth shut. Remindes me of when Wendy was getting nasty emails about her work. Shut up, if you don't like it. Why waste your own time with such negativity - it will only come back and bite you in the butt?!!!

I think it is absolutely disgusting to send an email and discourage youth as that person did. Disgusting.

For goodness sake, that is what DRIVES teenagers to do drugs - negativity and not being supported. To accuse someone of that is criminal. There are laws against that kind of thing in the workplace in real life. That is the most prejudicial thing I have heard in a while. Disgusting. Disgusting! I certainly hope I am not your neighbor.

***And another thing - you are paying for a service and merchandise. Even if she did use the money to go buy weed what the heck business is it of yours?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You aren't making a charitable donation.
Do you ask the supermarket distributer or the car manufacturer what he/she is doing with your money?!!!!!

Not all teenagers do drugs. I didn't. I still never have. Stereotyping helps you loose out on a lot in life! You are hurting yiourself!

To Lindsay:
My friends and I had a "punk" image in high school and college. We got discriminated against constantly. One of them now designs military communications systems. Another went back and teaches along side the teacher who told me I was "dumb" and stereotyped him as a long-haired druggie.
I am 28 and I know/remember how hard it is to be a kid without people trying to put you down.
Keep doing exactly what you are doing. Don't let anyone tell you that you are wrong or not doing the right thing. There are a lot of lessons to still be learned, but follow your heart and your dreams!!!! Don't get discouraged. But learn this lesson - there will be people like this in your path everyday till you die, how YOU handle it is what counts...

I will be sending you my orders soon!

Kris

Re: Re : Lindsay and the person who emailed her

Whoever wrote Linsay an Idiotic letter , that Person is a loner, sole looser and no self esteem . I will categorized this person as a left out in our society and that person can't do what Linsay can do with her life BEING POSITIVE !! LINSAY I DO ADMIRE YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE A GOAL IN LIFE AND GOING TO COLLEGE IS YOUR TOOLS AND TREASURES IN LIFE..... GOODLUCK and i know that you can do it

Lindsay,

the best advice I can give you is:

Do what you love. Some people will love it, some not. As long as it makes you happy, then who cares? Charge what you feel is fair for your work. If people love it enough, they will pay what you charge for it. There will always be people who think ANY price is always too high. Charge what YOU think its worth.

Dont sweat bad opinions. It isnt worth it.

AMEN!

nm

There was no need for somebody to send such a crummy message ...

If they don't care for your posts or your art, or the fact that you're a teenage, he/she should be mature enough to move along to something else.

I don't think your prices are out-of-line, and I imagine you can make price adjustments later to suit the "supply-and-demand" of your products.

Some people just aren't happy unless they're making somebody else feel bad.

Lindsay!!!

I cant believe someone would send you a note like that! I went to college for art and struggled like you selling my pictures to help for other things! your bully picture is wonderful and hope to see more pictures posted on the board! no the price is not too high either! i didnt read all of the posts below just yours. Dont you dare listen to whoever it was that wrote you that nasty letter! Art is art, and you certainly have the nack for drawing! keep up the wonderful work!!!!! Im proud that you are selling them on your own also. Joanne an Art Lover

Absolutely, Kris!!! - And for Lindsay, too...

It sucks to be judged. As a fellow artist, I, too have been discriminated against for the same kind of things...it's just MEAN.

Lindsay - do the things that make you happy and live your life creatively and never give up on your dreams. No matter WHO tries to pull you down. $35 is NOTHING for custom artwork & I think it's fantastic that you're taking your talents and using them for something positive. Don't let something some Bozo's opinion get you down, remember as an artist, you're vulnerable - you're placing a part of yourself out there for the world to see & everyone thinks their a critic, so take things with a grain of salt - but never doubt yourself. You'll be great. I'm rooting for you, girl!!!

Jodie (and Elsa, who is rooting for you, too!!!)

Great Advice....

I just wouldn't even waste my time on the negative person...I am 27 and never did drugs either...
