Boy our Vegas packages dont have many hotels to choose from.
The only hotel on the strip available is the
Stardust and it's available from 10/9 - 10/13
I wanted to go 10/8 - 10/12 and the only hotels are the California hotel and the Freemont Hotel and it's about $120.00 cheaper - are the California and Freemont a far ways away ???
Whats the stardust like ?
Thank you
Thanks webbie for the great advice.
Well well well if Wayne Newton is at the Stardust I may hang my hat there LOL!
The Hard Rock hotel looks like a hoot - saw that on the Entertainment channel - thats where I belong! Even though Im in bed by 900pm every night!
I dont think I could stay at the Ho Hotel, just the name gives me the creeps hahahaha!
I'll see if I can get into the one everyone else is staying at.
Thanks for your great advise, what would I ever do without you! Well I would be stuck downtown lol!
Re: Thanks Webbie
Well Lisa, some come to Vegas to be in Vegas and only crash out in a room long enough to catch a few hours of sleep and then there gone, so in that case the westward ho is fine! I have stayed there and while its nothing like the big boys, it is clean and safe and cheap!
The stardust is an older hotel that has undergone renovation about 5 years ago and is pretty nice, I think Wayne NEwton is homed there now and does his shows there. So i would look into that hotel if you like, its not bad! The reaon the agencies get uch deals on older hotels and stuff is just that, there older, some like the downtown ones try to use that to draw people downtown and there cost is not near as high since the building is long paid off and theer is not as much upkeep as there is in newer places.
Example: the hotel califonia has a nice and basic pool, one or two people keep it clean, no big deal a few hours a week. The hard rock has a jungel pool, tropical, big time nice, takes 13 fulltime people to keep up. That is one of many examples. However, in any case you will find every hotel in this town full or at 90% full or above at least 250 days a year, even downtown, and dont get me wrong downtown is safe and fun, great light show, its the older vegas, going back to what it use to be like before volcanos and pyramids!
Thanks Webbie
Thats what I thought - I knew the two hotels downtown were older - yuck dont want to stay in something like that, was wondering if the stardust was like that too.
By no means am I a cheapie just was wondering why these were the only hotels this package has.
I called my travel agency and she's working on doing the air seperate and then getting accommodations probably at the Hard Rock.
Thanks for your expertise! I'll request an extra large bathtub for you to camp out in lol!
Re: Question on hotels in Vegas

Whats the stardust like ?>>>>
Yes they are way far away, clear downtown and older hotels, real old! But there ok and safe, your average older hotel, no fancy things, no thrills, just basic. The stardust is not to bad, its still a little ways away but it a lot closer than the downtown hotels. If your looking for a hotel/motel type setting and want the lowest rates then call the westward ho, its the cheapest on teh strip, next to circus circus and about the same as teh downtown properties, I have stayed there before, its not bad, but it is older and its a basic room is all. You should call them directly and forget trying to get a package deal with airfare, in vegas that is not always the best way, here you can find your own rooms and usually do it cheaper than a package deal, especially if your loooking at older properties. westward ho is like 25-35 a night! or teh stardust is not bad. try also imperial palace hotel.
the rate at the host hotel is 109.00 a night i think which is not to bad. st tropez
