Wow are the babies every shedding!
Question is - what type of brush is the best to use?
I have noticed Brushing Milo with anything works, but Gertie is so hard to brush, it seems like my hand takes off more hair than the brush. Is it because she's so small ?
And also I know this has been brought up 8 million times but I rarely paid attention because it wasnt that big of a problem. Is there Anything I can put in their food to help reduce the shedding, or is it something we have to wait out since summer is on its way!
Thx!
Lisa
Sounds normal...
Pepper & Grady both do their share of shedding, too. I also don't know what it is, but it does seem like white coats shed more than darker coats. Maybe it's just because the white hair shows up more on everything?
The best tool to use for removing loose hair is a shedding blade. The next best thing is a "Zoom Groom" brush.
To help control shedding, Pepper & Grady both get a vitamin supplement in their dinner each night (Dr. Kruger's "Show Formula" powder: http://www.dockruger.com/show.htm), which includes flaxseed and biotin for a healthier coat.
Zoom Groom
It's a rubber, curry brush. "Zoom Groom" is the brand name, and you can find them at most pet stores. They really do help!
Actually a Rubber Curry Brush
Is what dog groomers use for the bulldog. I have a zoom groom, a wire brush and a curry. To me, the curry works great! You get more of the dead hair off..

Thanks for the tip jane... One question - you said in the white areas of the dog it sheds more, is that because white hair is more obvious to see, or do the white hairs actually shed more. Gertie is pure white and sheds a tun more than Milo but I just thought it was just more obvious and that they're probably shedding the same?!
What?
I am dumb! What is Zoom Groom?

Brushing and Shedding
If a dog has any white on them there will be more white hairs in a given area than there are in the same area of color. Sunflower is red and white. She sheds more around her head and shoulders where she is white than she does where she is red.
Lipiderm capsules are good for shedding. You will not notice a difference right away, but after a month or so you will start noticing a better coat and less shedding.
I use a shedding blade on all of my bullies. It works very well for us. And if you should get hair in your carpet, the shedding blade cleans that up very well also.
I hope this helps!

Shedding...
Frado also sheds like crazy. On the other board (board 2) some suggestions were to put a tablespoon of peanut oil in their food, which I have tried. I believe that there really is no solution to this "issue". I just brush Frado every night, with a shedding brush, and it works a little bit, but there is still a ton of hair that comes off of him nightly! I swear, it's amazing he's not bald by now!
Zoom Groom !!!!! N/M
Same thing here
I just assumed it was because Summer is coming. He never shed before.
funny~ we're having the same problem with Leeloo...
I think she's shedding her baby coat because lately she has been shedding like never before.. I can't wear black anymore... and i also found that my hands do a better job than the brush i bought her... will this pass? when?!?!

brush
I just got a shedding blade. It seems to be working pretty good. My husband hates shedding, he can be such a weenie. He hasn't been complaining, so I think it's doing the job.
