question? and I will cross post both boards....

a while back I read someone asking about when an adult bullie walks sideways...it was stated that in a baby bullie it's not a concern but in a adult...and then now I can't remember what was said....drats and drouthers...
...we noticed yesterday when Cody walks in the yard..he moves very slowly due to his infected swollen feet..but even with that his backside, legs etc...go off to the right is a "very" noticable walk...any info on this would be helpful...thanks all...ce

Sideways bullies

I've already said that bulldogs walk like their back end is attached like a trailer. If that's what you're seeing, I don't think it's a problem.

Canted gait..

Arthur has always had a slight cant to his walk when it is faster than a normal walk. When he trots (prances), he has a slight cant to the left. This is
normal in bullies. I think it makes them even more unique..(now how could THAT be possible???)

Re: question? and I will cross post both boards....

The Correct Bulldog appears to be side winding. It is a correct gait.

Cody

Sorry Ce,

I couldn't find the info. Maybe it was my other self that read the article. LOL

Good luck

muggs dont walk he rolls

and cookie when she runs rolls to the right.

thanks i tend to agree with when they get a bit of a pace going

they can end up in the oppisite corner they were heading to...lol

but with Cody he is barely moving..and each slow step takes his back end way to the right....ce

Ce... Cody walking sideways...

Our boy Svend, who is nine months old, walks fine, but when he picks up his gait, his hind legs jet out to the side and he moves sideways. We pointed it out to our vet and took him into a long hallway and let him run, and our vet said, "so he runs sideways, big deal". He said there's nothing to worry about, he's the only recommended bulldog vet around here, and well known as the best in Seattle, so I trust his opinion. Though I was very concerned about it initially.

Thought I'd pass that along!

thanks if you find anything out please let me know...

it is a real obvious side gait...not like MoJo's pupster walk...this is more like his back end is walking completely side ways..but then his feet must hurt ..so as you said it's a host of possiblities....

he has a vet check coming up next week ..and i'll see what his vet thinks also..making my list for him..smile...thanks again..ce

Walking

Ce,

Could be a lack of muscle tone. If he slept on hard surfaces, it may be nerve damage. Maybe his ear infections are throwing off his balance and this is his way of compensating. There is also a medical reason, can't think of the name right now, I'll look it up. With Cody, it could be a dozen things. Poor guy.

Give him a big smooch
